It could be swelling from inflammation (e.g., allergy eye, contact lens overwear), or a salty diet causing an accumulation of fluid while you are asleep. Possible cellulitis: Sounds like early orbital cellulitis which requires treatment with antibiotics. Very important. So you will have to go to your doctor or the emergency room. Cellulitis means infection of the skin, and the skin around the eyes may be vulnerable to this. ...Read more
