Doctor insights on:
Extremely Itchy Vagina
Yeast vs BV or..: Itching in the inside of you private is often caused by yeast (candida vaginitis) or bacterial vaginitis (bv), or some chemical irritation--maybe from tampon use etc. Std such as trichomonas/herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea can cause itching as well. I suggest getting evaluated/treated by your doc as soon as possible. Good luck.
I have a yellowish discharge, extremely itchy vagina and anus, no odor. It is Very hard not 2 scratch the areas. Dark spot around the anus with tinybumps?
Sounds like an: Infection of some sort. Get to a gyn for definitive diagnosis and specific treatment.
Extremely itchy vagina, not inside, libia & clitoris. No thrush, STD free & bacteria swabs done, all clear. Going on 4years, just want a answer?
Allergy?: Has anyone considered allergy to candida albicans? You don't have to have an "infection" from it to have symptoms. I vaguely remember about it. Maybe someone else will comment further, but look it up and talk to your doc about it.
May be an infection: Vaginal itching can have several causes. You may have a dermatologic condition. Or you may have an infection. The possible causes vary based on your age and risk factors. Your doctor can examine you and may run some tests to determine what is causing the problem. Until you see your doctor, you can try over-the-counter anti-itch creams. These may ease the itching but will not treat/cure the cause.
Itchy vulva: One reason could be the soap you use for cleansing, another one could be a yeast infection. This is a common infection in your women. Signs can be vulvar itch, along with thick white vaginal discharge. There are over the counter treatments for this. If symptoms persist, see a physician.See 1 more doctor answer
Most likely a yeast: Infection, could be bacterial or allergic or herpes or other causes, if u were my pt in coral springs, fl I would do an exam and cultures for yeast bact and herpes and most likely start treating u for yeast until I get the cultures back and u can take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) which should not hurt anything to help with some of the symptoms.
Yeast infection.: These are the typical signs of vaginal yeast infection and can be treated by a variety of medications.
Need attention: You need to see your doctor. Might be infection or othes process.
Vaginitis..: Vaginitis is a common/generic term for inflammation in/on the vagina area. It could be from infection such as yeast, BV (bacterial vaginosis), and std such as chlamydia, or from chemical irritation due to feminine hygiene products. If just itching outside, it could be dry skin, fungal infection, or the so tabooed crabs as pictured here. So, get it checked out by doc. Good luck.
Allergies/infection: There are many possibilities. The vulvar area is prone to environmental sensitivities, like allergies, that can cause itching. Why at night? Maybe you are sensitive to the laundry soap your sheets are washed in? Infections, such as an external yeast infection, or pubic lice, or even pinworm, are all possibilities. Get examined to rule those out.
Definitely: There are many causes. Vaginal itching does not always mean that you have infection. Sometimes people are allergic to household items. Laundry detergent, soap, maxipads, toilet paper and sweat are common culprits. There are skin disorders like lichen sclerosis and psoriasis. See your doc for an exam to determine the cause.See 1 more doctor answer
Strongly recommend: Against this. Mercy cream is touted to treat most skin diseases & to stimulate rapid hair growth. I know of no product that does all this. Be very caution about putting any substances into the vagina.
