Get in shape NOW!: If you are already in althletic shape - it may just help to maintain. However, be prepared to be challenged if you aren't in great shape. Don't count on recruit training to get you into shape - or you will be behind the 8 ball. Work hard physically with a trainer well before enlistment. You will be happy that you did so. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Tibial stress fracture. Doc said wear boot when possible, don't put stress on it. Is cycling ok to maintain fitness? Walking some w/out boot bad/ok?
Stress fracture: Depends...As long as you stay with low impact activities, most stress fractures will heal. However, the tibia shaft has poorer blood supply compared to other bones & in rarer circumstances will not heal & require surgery to fix. Talk with your ortho for additional info. ...Read more

DOES NOT MAKE SENCE: Loosing 35 lbs and not loosing a full pant size does not make any sence you should consult your doctor and get a thorough physical exam with weight height/bmi, blood tests etc, and discuss your weight loss of 35 lbs and no loss in the waist line, and what exercses you should be doing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
5yo kid slightly overweight, weight 24 kg, height 120 cm. recently joined to dance classes, doing simple yoga, aerobics dance at home, will it help?
Why would pt use 2lb ankle weight for strengthening leg of a senior recovering from fracture? Hurts knee?
Ankle weights: My answer is that i wouldn't do any exercise that hurts. Pain is a sign that your body doesn't like this. I would reduce the weight (to 1 pound, or even 1/2 a pound) till i found a level of weight which allowed me to do the exercise without pain. Do that for a while, then slowly increase the weight. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Severe foot sprain, in cam boot since 1/24 until 3/6. Gradually increasing weight bearing & going to pt. What is typical time until completely healed?
Maisonneueve fracture, can I start walking 10 weeks post op. 8 weeks nwb 4 partial weight bearing, ankle feels good to ditch crutches, this okay?
Can I do cardio. Elliptical and treadmill with cam walker after fracture of fibula and sprained ankle?
Stay off it.: So either the sunburn is causing the pain, which is possible, I guess. The other possibility, among others, is that the 8 mile hike has caused a stress fracture (s) and walking is causing further damage. You need to have the foot examined to get a real sense of the cause of the pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

With a tailbone injury can you do strength training w weights ie squats, leg press, hip abducter and cardio - elliptical?
Varies: It varies somewhat based on the severity of the injury. If it is a fracture, you would be well suited to avoid exercises that put extra strain on that area such as seated military press, etc for 6-8 weeks. If it was more of a soft tissue injury, than basically you would just try to keep your activities to such a level that your pain is not aggravated, but could increase them as tolerated. ...Read more
Metatarsal stress fracture-ok to walk in boot? Originally non- weight bearing, then limited with crutches. Not healed, still sore, swollen- 3 months.
Sounds Amiss.: If it is still swollen and still painful after three months, then it is. more that likely not healed. It makes no sense to continue to put pressure on an apparently unstable fracture. You need to have it re-evaluated to determine the true extent of the healing or non-healing, whichever it may be. ...Read more
No: Several studies have shown that back braces do not reduce work place injuries. However, there is evidence to show that back braces can help maintian a proper lifting posture, and therefore some workers choose to use a back brace. Wearing a back brace has not been shown to be harmful, and therefore if it provides a "feel good" effect then by all means wear it. ...Read more
