I had foot surgery 8 months ago. I have a mitek bone anchor (navicular area). My foot really hurts. Is the anchor causing the pain or the mild crps?
I had left foot surgery 8 months ago (navicular area). My foot has been hurting a lot also causing ankle pain. Can the mitek bone anchor be removed?
It would be: Difficult to remove but it can be removed. I would question whether or not its the actual anchor that is hurting. Usually a tendon is tacked down when using the anchor and perhaps the tendon is tied down to tight or something like that. In cases like this always ask the doc why he thinks you still have pain and what your options are. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Had foot surgery 8 months ago. What type of infection can the mitek bone anchor cause? Saw two diff podiatrist (no help). Is mild crps the pain factor
Infection?: Any surgery can result in an infection. However, infection 8 months later is rare. Blood work and special bone scans would be needed to make sure if you have an infection or not. Complex regional pain syndrome is very serious and would need professional treatments including physical therapy and medications. Post-op Kidner procedures could benefit from custom orthotics and MLS Laser treatments. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I had foot surgery a year ago on my right foot. The orthopod fused the bones, and put a plate in. I have a rash and some discoloration on my toes.
Question I am 5 weeks out of right foot surgery and my foot has a "cold feeling" and numb still. I have RA and had a joint/bone/cartilage replacement.
RA s/p foot surgery: The numbness can be from nerve irritation, nerve effects due to surgery as you cut and may cut some nerves when you replace bone or due to limited blood supply, The coldness can be due to blood supply interruption but that is more concerning as you need adequate supply. Call l the doctor today or go to ER, they can do dopplers and check blood supply, if toes are purple /black that is a emergency ...Read more
I had foot surgery on my left foot to fix my flat foot and the doctor said that they fused my bone and put a screw. When can I walk? Physical therapy?
This discussion: Should ONLY take place with your surgeon. From your description it is unclear if you had a subtalar stent placed in or if you had a flatfoot reconstruction. If a subtalar stent was put in then the "screw" isn't really a screw its an implant and it did not get placed into any bone, rather was placed ina a canal between the ones. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
I ve got swelling in knee same foot had surgery. I've got appt. W/my reg. Dr. 18th, foot dr. 27th. Or see my bone dr? Will reg. Dr. (int. Med) work?
Depends...: Kind of a broad question. There are different types of surgical procedures. Toenail procedures or skin biopsies have little to no down time. Bunions can vary from 6-8 weeks recuperation and more extensive rearfoot surgery may take up to months. Need to restore proper alignment in the joint, restore proper mechanics in the foot, and reduce pain symptoms. Bonus aesthetically pleasing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Lasers and Surgery: Lasers in foot surgery really only cut the skin, several years ago this was a fad or "new technology" which sounded really cool. That said if you mean laser treatments for soft tissue conditions such as tendonitis then you should not feel anything and should. Experience decreased pain and swelling. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Yes: Depends on the type of foot surgery. Simple bunion or hammertoe surgery will not affect you as much as other foot surgeries such as reconstruction foot surgery. However, even with a bunion or hammertoe surgery you will need to adjust your running regiment until your foot swelling and pain subsides. Your doctor who is doing the surgery should answer and clarify this for you. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
