C/section: After a failed cephalic version the baby is typically delivered by c/section. An external cephalic version, where the doctor tries to turn a breech baby on its head is not without risk and is typically done in the OR with the entire c/section team present to be able to do an immediate c/section. ...Read more

Convenience: Historically, there used to be greater advantages. There are many fewer advantages today, since external beam radiation has advanced greatly. You can save time by having brachytherapy. What is the % breakdown in the general population between symptomatic external and symptomatic internal hemorrhoids?
25% external 75% internal?
May not be known: Many people have or have had hemorrhoids. I am not aware of anyone trying to figure out how many are internal, external, or mixed, in origin. Perhaps the typical initial treatments would be similar anyway. This is why your baby is monitored throughout the procedure. Version is not always successful, i.e., babies can flip back. And it may be uncomfortable. It can, however, increase your chance of having a vaginal delivery. Talk with doc! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
