External Vaginal Itch
Abstinent. External vaginal itch from moisture. Used Vagisil Max cream. When I began using it daily, the condition exacerbated & to upper inner thigh.
Possible yeast: External vaginal itching due to moisture may be from a yeast (candida or tinea) infection. Vagisil is just a topical anesthetic that can mask symptoms but does not treat the problem. Some women develop a local reaction to the benzocaine. See your clinician for an exam and appropriate treatment. Take Care! ...Read more

Good morning, I have some external vaginal itching that has occurred for three days now. There is no redness or swelling. I did have unprotected sex recently with someone new who I know is clean. I was very dry and it was a little painful. It's been since
Most likely it: Is a yeast or bacterial infection. Please get yourself to the nearest healthcare provider to get diagnosed and treated. And in the future please do not have unprotected intercourse if anyone unless you have been married to that person for 10 years and trust him to be faithful with you. You never know who the other person may have been with and some things hang out a long time... ...Read more
Symptoms: external vaginal itching, white chunks in vagina but no discharge as of yet and there is no smell. Is this a yeast infection?
I'm looking for a natural remedy to sooth and heal external vaginal burning/itching due to low estrogen. I don't want to use estrogen cream. Thanks!
Atrophic vaginitis: It's tough to find a topical substitute for Premarin (conjugated estrogens) or Estradiol cream for use on atrophic vaginitis. You could dry KY long lasting to improve overall moisture and intake of soy, which is a phytoestrogen may have a slight effect. Just make sure your gyn has ruled out lichen sclerosis and infection as the possible cause. Estradiol cream by the way is actually made from soy beans. ...Read more
Last 2 mo. S I've had external vaginal redness itching & internal sharp pain. Gyno said was yeast infection then gardnerella & no relief. Suggestions?
What treatment?: Some treatments are more effective than others, and sometimes you can have resistant yeast or bacteria that doesn't respond 100% to the treatment you've been given. I would get re-tested to confirm infection and see if there is a way to get antibiotic "sensitivities" on the organisms that grow. In addition, you may want to find a vaginal probiotic supplement/suppository to build up your defenses. ...Read more
Vaginal itch, clumpy white discharge, no odor. Took one dose diflucan (fluconazole) yesterday. Still itches and uncomfortable especially when sitting.??
Diflucan (fluconazole) takes days: Diflucan (fluconazole) takes a few days to treat a more stubborn yeast infection. Itching indicates that the yeast is deep enough to create enough inflammation to trigger nerve endings. So if after a week, the itching does not go away, I usually recommend using an OTC antifungal cream externally to finish the job. If that does not help, see your GYN. ...Read more
Vaginal itch since 4 days, scratched hard, now itches after urination. No pain or discharge. Periods due in a day or two. Anything to be worried?
Used monostat 1 to treat a yeast infection, I woke up a couple hours later with severe external an internal vaginal itching. Need relief, what now?
Remove monistat 1st: You may be having an allergic reaction to the medication or you may not have a yeast infection. Usually I do not recommend douching, but in your case a vinegar based douche such as summer's eve will help remove the medication. Also, wash the vulva with a mild, hypoallergenic soap and pat dry with a towel. You may need to see your ob/gyn who may prescribe oral Diflucan (fluconazole) and a steroid ointment. ...Read more

Internal vaginal itch, neg for yeast, + e.coli took cipro (ciprofloxacin) for e.coli. Still have itching. No stds?
See your doctor: It's not normal for the vagina to itch, and it might signify some type of infection. I recommend seeing your doctor for an evaluation. As for creams, there are many. Vagisil cream works pretty well, but it won't overcome the underlying cause if there is an infection. Don't douche though, this will make things worse. Good luck. ...Read more

I've have an unexplained vaginal itch for years now. Nurse pescribed boric acid pills that I may take yr. Or yrs. Is there better or anyother options.?
Hygiene, no irritants: Make sure you see a dr to rule out infection. If not infection, it may be due to chronic irritation. First, practice good hygiene. Wash your external genital area gently with mild, unscented soap & water during showers, & avoid douching or bubble baths. Avoid tight-fitting underwear (cotton is best) or unnecessary use of pads/panty liners. You might also try over-the-counter 1% Hydrocortisone cream. ...Read more
