External Prostate Massage
The prostate is a gland that lies at the base of the bladder and surrounding a segment of urethra. It secretes a milky fluid that is discharged by excretory ducts into the urethra during the emission of semen. It is clinically important because enlargement of the prostate with age, and prostate cancer are two common ...Read more
Vigorous massage is: Prostate massage is used in clinical practice rarely to diagnose chronic bacterial prostatitis. If used to achieve an intense orgasm, it should be done carefully, as vigorous massage may result in damage to the nearby thin rectal lining, stricture of the membranous urethra, or possibly epididymitis. If a patient has acute bacterial prostatitis, vigorous massage may seed the blood with bacteria.See 2 more doctor answers
Prostate exam plus: A prostate massage is performed in the same way a prostate exam is performed. It is a finger exam, into the rectum. After examining the surface of the prostate, the md will push on the back of the prostate in a methodical fashion. Men may experience a strong urge to urinate and sometimes some burning. They are unlikely to leak urine during it. Usually lasts no more than 20-30 seconds.
Reconsider: My advice would be to avoid such activity.
Prostatic: Prostatic massage can be helpful in diagnosing some conditions. However, there is little data to support its routine use in maintaining prostate health.
How often can you/ should you massage the prostate when u have prostatitis. And how do you massage it? How do u find it? I'm 99.9% sure I have it.
Usually that is: Not needed in treating prostatitis. It is done by inserted a gloved finger into the rectum. The back of the prostate is just in front of the rectum. Unless one is a contursionist, hard to to by oneself.
US, Canada, Europe are different when viewing prostate milking and massage on a regular basis. Why so much hassle in the US am I missing something?
Here are some. ..: Sorry to see your frustration with the hassle to get prostate milking/massage in the US, which is understandable. Being said before, the concept & practice of prostate change has evolved & changed over the past 30-50 yrs, but with various pace among Doctors and the public. Sensibly, one would not argue with facts such as its sworn-by benefit in an individual, to whom practicing such may be tried.
Are doctors trained in prostate milking or they just realize how to do it vs prostate massage. Does there always need to be medical evidence for it?
Highly controversy..: Practicing prostate massage has had its fan & fun, smiling & frowning for decades. Theoretically, massaging prostate probably may produce tissue "contusion" to express existing unwanted fluid into systemic circulation. Nonetheless, occasional patients swore by its "wonder" in relieving "prostatitis"-related Sx. Nowadays, its once sworn-by practice has dwindled, in time, becoming a history.
The last time I massaged my prostate, I produced notable precum for the first time but I barely came when I masturbated right after. What's going on?
Unusual to see...: You got to have a very long and flexible arm for self prostate massage. But what you observed & described should bear no clinical significance as long as being able to function at need. For the time being, it is better to leave it alone and do not try to masturbate compulsively. To sort out what may be wrong, follow instructions in http://www. Formefirst. Com/eNewsletter06.html. Will my Urologist ever massage my prostate to obtain concentrated secretions for a test? This is what I want and was told it doesn't happen like that?
Yes: If you're a female they will not do it that's what your profile says but if your email yes it will happen
Prostate massage I have been experimenting with prostate massage and milking. I only get a small amount of clear fluid and I think I should be getting more. What is a normal amount of fluid should I get when milking?
Prostate: Are you wanting to see if you have an infection? I for one tend to not do this as I feel if you have an infection it may worsen things and doesn't really give me any information. If clinically you have signs and symptoms of a prostate infection then you need to be treated. A Urologist is the specialist who deals with the prostate.
Yes: Intercourse.Get a more detailed answer ›
Being Sexual: Actually this is not a question you take to the physician. It is inappropriate for a physician to tell you to have or how to have sex. This crosses a lot of our ethical boundaries. I often recommend that my patients have at least one guide book to sex so that the activities can be described and learned about in clear and adult language. I have them start with "the joy of sex".
Prostatitis: Potentially but I doubt your going to find a scientific study to verify this...
What are U reading?: The mechanism of hemorrhoid development (see past healthtap answers) has little to do with the prostate. Therefore, mechanical and prolonged digital massage of the prostate may serve other purposes but should have little positive impact on hemorrhoids. Are you sure your problem is really hemorrhoids? And, more to the point, find another source of medical information please.
