BV: Bacterial vaginosis (bv) is the most common vaginal infection. It is an overgrowth of normal vaginal bacteria, not a sexually transmit disease. The vaginal pH gets elevated releasing the fishy odor. It is easily fixed with antibiotics. Ask to be tested for bv. Other infections are possible so get tested. ...Read more

Maybe OK, but...: If you've had yeast and symptoms are the same now, self Rx w/ Monistat probably is OK. Otherwise, see a doctor for professional care. If you just can't (cost, etc), then probably OK to give it a try -- but if it doesn't clear up within 5-7 days, you definitely must see a doctor. Irritation. Inside of labia minora reddish, burning, and itching. Not nearly as bad as yeast infection. Normal discharge. Could it be from using soap?
