I was exposed to whooping cough at work. I am vaccinated as are my two sons (4 and 10). Does my 10 year old need a booster?
Yes: Yes, symptoms of whooping cough develop after a typical incubation period of 7 to 10 days (range: 5 to 21 days). The classic illness generally lasts 6-10 weeks. Routine childhood immunization is the best protection. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I had two seizures from the whooping cough vaccine as a child. With my first child on the way it's recommended i get it to protect her. Am i able to?

Not likely: If his vaccines are current. The cough is of short duration and appears to be contagious, likely a cold.
