See your doctor : The grinding is generally a sign of digerati on in the facets, or neck joints. As an ED person, your ligaments which hold the bones in place are most likely lax, allowing excess movement. While,this could. No: The movements would have to very violent and rapid to cause any neurologic damage. Make sure your doctors rule out sleep apnea as a cause of your symptoms you list above, as this is frequently missed in young people. At the very least, a home o2 desaturation test should be run to rule this possibility out, followed by a home or lab sleep study if clinically indicated.I hope other docs chime in als. ...Read more

Headaches: I'm a little but powerful way you describe your headaches I would suggest that you see a neurologist as quickly as possible. You should get a CT scan of the head first and maybe an MRI after the CT scan results are available. Head/ear pain: I think it may be trigeminal neuralgia. or variant thereof of neuralgia.. Could be due to zoster, herpes or lyme. less likley MS or tumor. see http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/trigeminal_neuralgia/detail_trigeminal_neuralgia.htm May consider a trial of gabapentin or steroids + acyclovir + gabapentin. Postconcussive: A postconcussive syndrome can bring about any other psychiatric syndrome including an impulse control disorder nos. Seen from this perspective, medicinally one might expect benefit from Hydroxyzine dosed as tolerated between 10 mg daily up to 25 mg PO qid. If you also have posttraumatic stress disorder symptomatology, there is always the possibility of a self-directed anger coming back at you in the form of a repetition compulsion.Either way, psychotherapy along with medication would certainly be the way to go.Low-dose antipsychotic interventions are sometimes also helpful in such conditions but i would certainly give Hydroxyzine a trial run first if you were among my patient population. That worries me: If you hear any strange voices you need to seek counsel from your pcp. He/she may advise that you need further evaluation by a psychiatrist in order to be sure that this is not a mental disorder of some sorts.Only a specialist can help you in this situation. It is unlikely to be due to a brain tumor especially if you have already had a MRI of the brain done. ...Read more
