You could be dealing with osteoarthritis in your hip with possible nerve irritation/inflammation which is causing your feeling of numbness. The first step is to see your primary care doctor. After a history and examination, an x-ray of your hip should be ordered. In the meantime your doctor can prescribe pain medication to relieve the pain and help with inflammation.

You are quite young for hip arthritis, so it may be that you have some dysfunction of the pelvic bones that a chiropractor or osteopathic doctor may be able to address.
