Exercises Tighten Loose Belly Skin
Tried different diets and exercises but I just lose weight and my skin won't tighten back up. How can I tighten my belly up again?
Metabolism: To tighten up skin that is slack after weight loss, it usually takes monumental effort when done via exercise and when the person is over 35 years of age. One of the best exercises which gives overall toning is swimming laps (repetitive anaerobic exercise). Running long distances is also helpful, but can be stressful to joints. Short of exercise, surgery might be a consideration. ...Read more
Abdominoplasty!: The only real answer here (after triplets) is abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). This can remove the extra skin, but more importantly, repair the stretched muscles of your abdominal wall. This is best after your family is complete (i bet it is now!) and may need to wait until the triplets are old enough that you can recover appropriately after the procedure. Does drinking more water help with loose skin? Are there any exercises I could do to help tighten it up?
Loose skin: Drinking water is generally good for you & maintains your hydration which can certainly help with the overall appearance of your skin. It likely won't help significant skin laxity which is better served by skin tightening devices such as lasers, ultrasound, radiofrequency etc. It depends on the area & amount of laxity but surgery is sometimes also needed to remove excess skin (eg. After wt loss). ...Read more

Arm Lift: Congratulations on significant weight loss. Patients who have “bat wings” under the upper arms benefit from arm lifting surgery (brachioplasty). This operation involves directly removing excess skin and adipose tissue of the upper arms, thereby improving the contour. Wonderful: Wonderful that you have been able to lose so much weight. Your question is difficult to answer without an exam or at least photos. A lower body lift generally will improve the buttocks and upper and inner thighs and less so the abdomen. I find that the abdominal area will usually be best approached with a circumferential abdominoplasty that will also help the buttocks and upper outer thighs to some degree. Most massive weight loss patients need several operations over time to achieve the very best results. ...Read more
