Rest: 4 weeks may not be enough time for complete healing before starting therapy. 6-8 wks is typically the amount of time it takes to heal a sprain if immobilized. See doctor.: To me there are 2 issues: 1) you may need to eat slightly less due to less activity but too much fasting may deprive your body of the nutrients it needs to heal your ankle. 2) you may need to get your ankle examined to make sure nothing else going on apart from a sprain if you are still troubled.
