Needs Evaluation: Although these kind of symptoms generally are musculoskeletal in origin and self-limited, in your situation I would seek medical evaluation. AVOID NSAID-type medicine like Ibuprofen, Aleve, (naproxen) or Aspirin and see your doctor. ...Read more

Weird sharp chest pains, both sides and sometimes in the middle of my chest. Pain in bottom of arm sometimes and also in neck. Burning sensation ?

Nerve pain: It is difficult to say without examining but the pain you are describing sounds like nerve pain. Nerves can get punched at the level of the neck giving burning shooting pains in the arms and neck. The chest pain may be due to referred pain from a pinched nerve as well or due to inflammation of cartilage. You need to get examined by a doctor to get the correct diagnosis ...Read more

Sharp burning pain under right armpit only when I move my arm a certain way and nit all the time. Just once in awhile. Very painful.

Shoulder pain: To help more would need to know the "certain way" you move it Armpit pain is usually from the joint. Intermittent pain would indicate a capsular tear. If it gets bothersome enough to consider surgery (arthroscopic, outpatient)then get an MRI and see a surgeon. Otherwise avoid using it the "Certain way" for a few weeks to let it heal. You may need a follow up. Let us know. ...Read more

See doctor: Hard to say what this is as yet although such symptoms do require further investigation. Htn in 17 yo should be investigated to rule out secondary causes of HTN (like renovascular causes, hormonal causes). Pcos pts have a high incidence of Insulin resistance and increased risk for CAD due to a constellation of atherosclerotic risk factors. Check echo, consider pericardial disease, dvt, etc. ...Read more

I have a burning pain feeling on the upper arm near the elbow going up wards - it does not go away at all it is a constant burning feeling ?

Physical exam rec'd : The two points you describe ("burning", and essentially a radiating pattern) would definitely put the concept of a possible nerve irritation in my differential. I would definitely see a physician about it if it persists or other new changes develop. A physical exam involving sensory, muscle, and reflex testing is warranted. ...Read more

What causes a burning sensation in the viens in my fore arms? Also the muscles in my calfs keep locking up.

What causes a burning sensation in the viens in my fore arms? Also the muscles in my calfs keep locking up.

Don't know: I have never heard of burning in forearm veins unless something has been injected into them. Assuming you are not doing that (and maybe especially if you are) then you should see a clinician to find the cause of this and the leg cramps. Probably need blood tests as well. Meanwhile, keep your arms above your heart level and try some heat on them as well as your leg muscles to see if it helps. ...Read more

Neuropathy: Sounds like a nerve problem, so we'd call it neuropathy. It can be caused by anything damaging a nerve. Shingles or herpes can do this, but if it has been going on for 2 weeks I'd expect there to be spots or bumps or something showing on the skin by now. It can also be caused by your immune system attacking the nerve or by the nerve being pinched in your spine or elsewhere. See your doc for help. ...Read more

When i stretch my arms and legs i get a burning sensation in my muscles that last about 3-5 seconds?

May be normal: Hard to say, but with stretching and working out the muscles, sometimes the stretch is intense enough to create a burning sensation to to Lactic Acid buildup. If this happens quite often, with minor stretching, i might consider seeing a dr. Make sure you are well hydrated and take magnesium/potassium supplements, which may help. Left outer elbow joint very painful (tennis elbow)? Hurting for sometime and now pain inside of upper arm to armpit. Why? Sometimes burning pain.

Suggestions: Hard to pin down just one answer here, as you could possess an extensor tendinitis associated with peripheral nerve compression at elbow or even shoulder. Could consider thoracic outlet syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome or even radial nerve problem. See orthopedic surgeon, maybe get EMG study, and find out what is present so that therapy will be focused. ...Read more
