What causes the burning sensation in my arm where the muscle on the outside of my arm connects to my elbow?
It is a body tissue that has the ability to contract. It shortens and generates force. It relaxes and returns to its original length. Muscles move joints, stabilize the body, move air and food through the organs, act as valves for bladder, bowel and other organs. They control movement of the eyes. They help us express ourselves by changing the shape of our ...Read more

Weird sharp chest pains, both sides and sometimes in the middle of my chest. Pain in bottom of arm sometimes and also in neck. Burning sensation?
Atypical chest pain: Given age group and no documented risk factors, your symptoms are unlikely cardiac in origin. However an evaluation with blood tests (thyroid unction) an echocardiogram (sonogram of the heart) to rule out structural disease and a treadmill stress test for coronary and abnormal heart rhythm abnormalities would help to rule out cardiac etiologies. ...Read more

You may need a follow up. Let us know. ...Read more

I have a burning pain feeling on the upper arm near the elbow going up wards - it does not go away at all it is a constant burning feeling?
Physical exam rec'd: The two points you describe ("burning", and essentially a radiating pattern) would definitely put the concept of a possible nerve irritation in my differential. I would definitely see a physician about it if it persists or other new changes develop. A physical exam involving sensory, muscle, and reflex testing is warranted. ...Read more

What causes a burning sensation in the viens in my fore arms? Also the muscles in my calfs keep locking up.
Don't know: I have never heard of burning in forearm veins unless something has been injected into them. Assuming you are not doing that (and maybe especially if you are) then you should see a clinician to find the cause of this and the leg cramps. Probably need blood tests as well. Meanwhile, keep your arms above your heart level and try some heat on them as well as your leg muscles to see if it helps. ...Read more
Burning sensation on skin of upper arm/shoulder for 2 weeks, but nothing there, skin looks completely normal. No rashes or other symptoms. What is it?
Neuropathy: Sounds like a nerve problem, so we'd call it neuropathy. It can be caused by anything damaging a nerve. Shingles or herpes can do this, but if it has been going on for 2 weeks I'd expect there to be spots or bumps or something showing on the skin by now. It can also be caused by your immune system attacking the nerve or by the nerve being pinched in your spine or elsewhere. See your doc for help. ...Read more

Left outer elbow joint very painful (tennis elbow)? Hurting for sometime and now pain inside of upper arm to armpit. Why? Sometimes burning pain.
Suggestions: Hard to pin down just one answer here, as you could possess an extensor tendinitis associated with peripheral nerve compression at elbow or even shoulder. Could consider thoracic outlet syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome or even radial nerve problem. See orthopedic surgeon, maybe get EMG study, and find out what is present so that therapy will be focused. ...Read more
Numbness from elbow down to hand with cramps/burning on fingers. I have a rug burning sensation by the elbows. Both hands. Pain on upper arm to.?
Ulnar nerves: Commonest cause of this is ulnar nerve compression at the elbow. Although most of the symptoms will be experienced in forearm and hands, some symptoms may be noted in upper arms. If the funny bone is tender to the touch this is the most likely case. Don't lean on your elbows. If elbows are swollen or red, get them examined. If your hand is weak, seek medical care soon. ...Read more
Should I be concerned if I am hearing popping noises by heart? I also have burning sensation on chest, arms, pins and needles, muscle loss,
Burning sensation: Yes, this is something to be concerned about. I can't speak to the "popping" noises that you are having, but the numbness/tingling/burning most likely is due to nerve compression at a high thoracic spine level. You need to see a physician and have an MRI ordered to evaluate if you have cord compression from a disc herniation or some other secondary cause. ...Read more
