Nonspecific symptoms: These are pretty nonspecific symptoms that can be present in healthy people. But heart failure would be one problem that could cause all 3. Pretty unlikely at your age, but a medical exam could rule it out.

Endocrinologist: See an endocrinologist. Rapid weight gain, sweating, and acne may represent an adrenal problem among other hormonal conditions.

Possible side effect: Based on the symptoms you are experiencing, this might not be a good medication combination for you. Individuals can differ in terms of what medication combinations and doses work for them. Venlafaxine (Effexor) can cause people's blood pressure to increase. Too much serotonin (which is one of the brain chemicals that these 3 medications affect), can cause excessive sweating as well.

Can excessive sweating and weight gain be due to a thyroid disease?

Can excessive sweating and weight gain be due to a thyroid disease?

Hypothyroidism: Yes. It would be a good idea to see your primary care physician and have a routine thyroid screening. It is a simple blood test. There are many symptoms associated with thyroid disease. If you have noticed weight gain without actively trying to do so, or without a significant change in your exercise, or eating habits, it could potentially be related to a thyroid issue.

Sweating: Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis can be treated by your dermatologist. Treatments vary from topical solutions that block the sweat duct, to iontophoresis to Botox injections. Botox is very effective because it stops the sweating for up to 4 to 6 months but it is an expensive treatment. It may be cheaper for some people who have to replace their suits often because of excessive perspiration.

Endocrine: May be an endocrine issue: thyroid problem, pituitary tumor, polycystic ovarian syndrome etc. Ask your doctor to run a few blood tests to help figure this out. If these tests come back abnormal, see an endocrinologist.

Symptom complex: I am sorry but if your physicians who know your history, have examined you and done any indicated tests can't figure this out, I am not sure how we can help on the medical education portion of Health Tap.

Is weight gain and lethargy often associated with Zoloft (sertraline) and is sweating very prevalent with this ssri?

Is weight gain and lethargy often associated with Zoloft (sertraline) and is sweating very prevalent with this ssri?

Possibly...: Some people may experience weight gain and/or lethargy on zoloft (sertraline) but I would say in general most people tolerate zoloft (sertraline) pretty well. Sweating is a possible side effect of every antidepressant; for some reason an individual will sweat excessively with one med but not with another-- it can happen with any one of them. It's pretty weird!

Med Side Effect?: This sounds concerning, and I recommend that you see your doctor soon. Some of these symptoms could be medication side effects from your Adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) or relate to problems with your thyroid. I hope you feel better soon!

These are my symptoms. Fatigue, sweating, constipation, hand tremors, weight gain, brain fog, feeling like my heart is racing. I know this isn't normal?

No, see Dr: It is a mixed picture, which means there is more information to be obtained from the history prior to a thorough exam and likely some blood/urine tests to see what is going on. See your dr / urgent care dr for initial evaluation.

Iv been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue, anxiety/depression. I have bloated hard tummy, rapid weight gain, infertility, night sweats and more. Help!?

Hormonal Imbalance: You clearly have some hormonal problems. I would not be surprised if you have thyroid problems, estrogen and Progesterone problems and adrenal problems as these types of hormonal imbalances are interelated. You need to see an md who is highly experienced in the management of functional hormonal and metabolic imbalances. In the meantime, aovid sugars and fried foods to reduce your edible stress.

Time to visit doctor: It sounds like you need to visit your medical provider very soon for a full physical exam and labs. A physician needs to see you in person and evaluate your medical history, labs, vital signs, and physical exam findings. Good luck.

No: It will be a hair follicle/sebaceous gland infection in axilla, which is more common. It will espond to antibiotic. If older, FHx breast cancer....things will be different. Sweating, fatigue, moody....can relate to PCOS.

Hot flashes, sweating, weight gain, insomnia, fatique, no libido, vaginal dryness, anxiety, irritability, gas and blothing. Lab tests normal.

Medication effects?: When you say lab tests normal; WHICH lab tests were done? In men Effexor (venlafaxine) & medications like Effexor (venlafaxine) can trash libido & erectile function. I've seen similar problems in women though they tend not to recognize it as often...wonder why. Maybe men just see it another moody day? Can cause other symptoms as well. Anyways, you may consider that angle. Try to avoid MORE medications if possible. CBT?

Chills and sweats: Do you have a fever? I think with these symptoms, that you should see a doctor soon to get a good exam and some tests done. Ruling out infection or other abnormality that needs addressing sooner rather than later!

My TSH level in 2013 was 1.00 and in 2014 it was 0.55. I have symptoms of excessive sweating and fatigue. Does my thyroid need a closer look?

No: Both are within the normal range and I would look for another cause for your symptoms. A thorough history and a physical exam are needed to further elucidate the cause of your complaints.

What medical conditions can cause low hemoglobin, low mcv, elevated liver enzymes? I'm extremely fatigued, excessive sweating, fast heartbeat back pai

IRON DEF ANEMIA: You have 2 conditions, anemia due to iron def most likely due to heavy menses. Elevated liver enzymes may be due to hepatitis. Both conditions linked may be due to some hemoglobinopathy such as thallassemia in addition. Suggest start oral iron and check for hepatitis b and c and hemoglobin electrophoresis

See doctor again: Some times patients may develop high fever and flu-like symptoms from a medication. I would suggest that all drugs be discontinued but do check with your doctor regularly to make sure that there's nothing else. This condition is known as drug fever.
