Gastroenteritis: Food poisoning is very common and usually self-limiting. If this persists beyond 7-10 days a trip to your family doctor is not unwarranted. Good luck.

Flatulence problem?: Flatulence neither localizes your problem to small or large bowel, nor indicates severity or cause. You have described a gut that may be dysfunctional due to infection, sibo, motility problems, inflammation, ibs, ischemic disease, maldigestion, sphincter problem, or food intolerance. If the latter check low fod-mapdiet restrictions: stanfordhospital. Org/.../nutrition/dh-low-fodmap-diet-handout. Pdf

Pain: Sharp pain in the lower left abdomen could mean any of a number of problems. Best idea would be a visit to the Emergency Room near you as soon as you can. If they find something they can take care of they will. If they find something not so good and they can't take care of it they will send you to the hospital.

Gas pain: If you are burping a lot of gas then it is gerd and if you are passing gas from behind it is constipation. In any case drink a lot of fluid, treat accordingly. You may have both simultaneously too. Otc laxative and antacid should be tried.

Constant excessive gas from both ends since abdominal cramping & diarrhea 4 days ago. Worse after meals. I'm a hypochondriac so worried it's cancer : (?

Not cancer: Gas is a frequentl component of the upper and lower GI tract. If there was an episode of diarrhea caused by an organism not part of the normal GI microbiome that has organisms that allow the colon to function normally one has diarrhea and passes gas produced by the foreign bacteria. Gas in the upper GI tract is mostly swallowed gas that is regurgitated. Non are part of the cancer picture.

I have watery diarrhea (passed fresh blood once), stomach growling, excessive gas inc eggy burps, vomiting, appetite loss, sharp stomach cramps?

Diarrhea: May be gastroenteritis., bacterial or viral that could resolve in 1 week. Try probiotic. The concern is that with blood may be E coli 0157:H7 that is associated with hemolytic uremic syndrome so bactrim in particular is not recommended- the impact of other antibiotics in unclear. If having > 6 movements a day would lf/u/ w/ ER/ doc as will get dehydrated.

Too young toworry: Colon cancer would be the last thing you need to consider. It is rare in young people. You can ignore this for now. Only if this persists, you should go see a physician and let him/her help you. Unless there is rectal bleeding you do not need to think Cancer!

Gastroenterologist: You are describing primarily GI symptoms. Because of their severity, distribution, and your history it would be advisable to start the diagnostic process with a Gastroenterologist.

This morning I had loose stools and mild low-abdomen (pelvic) discomfort when passing. For 5 days prior had EXCESS gas (gone now). Should I be worried?

Gas pains & recovery: The body always wants to get "back into health" and I think here you've proved that. Certainly the body will try to rid itself of any germs or toxins which probably affected u for the last few days. Now that you're getting better I wouldn't worry. It might be useful to try and "go back" and think of what may have triggered you off- to limit problems in the future. Hope that helps!

Ibs: Remember ibs is a diagnosis of exclusion. So you would have had a full evaluation to be given the diagnosis of ibs. If this is not the case See your doctor for a full and thorough exam

Not likely. You need: ...to see your surgeon again. If s/he doesn't think that this is related to the surgical Procedure, you should see a gastroenterologist. I'm going to complete your thought with an educated guess. If the problem is interfering with life activities, it's definitely time to seek treatment. Dr. Anne

GI symptoms: Do not know whether you should worry, but if you want to get to the core of this you should see a doctor and be evaluated. Exam of stools may be necessary along with detailed history and exam. Good luck.

See your doctor: 10 days of unsteady bowel movements is not normal and should be addressed by your doctor. Should there be severe pain, inability to keep fluids down I would get checked at an urgent care or emergency room. Otherwise see your doctor as soon as you can.

21 w/ weekly recurring bouts of nausea and diarrhea + bloated + gas. Take Pepcid (famotidine) every day. Thinking excessive use of antacid? Clean endoscopy

Pepcid (famotidine) use: Pepcid will tell the parietal cells in the lining of your stomach to not produce so much acid. It has nothing to do with diarrhea or gas production. You can take imodium (loperamide) (OTC) to reduce the diarrhea and you probably have sloffed off the inner lining of your gut bec of the chronic diarrhea so you lost the enzyme (Lactase) which breaks down lactose. E. coli in your gut probably causing the gas (CO2)
