Position during: The position of your arm during surgery most likely is the cause. Need to let your surgeon know about it. Sometimes the position of your though convienent for the anesthesiologist or surgeon is not acceptable if a longer procedure without proper padding. Read more

No, and no: The fall caused the bruise. It is a collection of blood in the muscle, not a clot that could go anywhere. A bruise could not cause cataract surgery if that was your question, nor should it interfere with cataract surgery. Just mention it to your surgeon. S/he may do blood work to make sure that your blood clotting is normal. Good luck! Read more

Not uncommon: Bruising is a sign of blood that has come out of a tear or cut blood vessel. Many foot procedures inherently do so. If the bleeding occurs in one of the deep spaces in your foot it make take a while for the blood to percolate thru the tissue and present as a bruise.
