Which ones a better snack: A single serving size of 99% cacao dark chocolate or a single serving of fruit?

Which ones a better snack: A single serving size of 99% cacao dark chocolate or a single serving of fruit?

Fruit: 99% Cacao is certainly better than mild chocolate or other sweets, but it does not beat a fresh fruit. Fresh fruits have loads of other nutrients, fiber, antioxidants (cacao has some too), and will keep you full for longer. I recommend apples and pears because they have a good blend of soluble and insoluble fiber and it is easy to measure out a serving; one. ...Read more

Not likely,,: I don't know what your cholesterol is but if you're eating this every day you're likely helping yourself as this is fish which have omega 3 fatty acids which are very good for your circulation and seem to help stop heart disease, etc.. It's also a good source of protein and calories, so keep it up and enjoy. Good luck. ...Read more

One must consume less calories than they burn.I eat very small amounts of food which mainly consists of vegetables. I move A LOT. No weight loss. Why?

First point is true: "One must consume less calories than they burn" or else one will not lose any weight. Even if one is eating apparently small amounts of food, and moving a lot, the laws of nature do not change... meaning there will not be weight loss until the number of calories absorbed into one's body is less than the number of calories burned each day. This is always true for normal, healthy people. ...Read more

Unlikely but...: While fruit contains sugars as glucose and fructose, the fiber in fruit reduces its effects on raising blood sugar. If i eat 6 small meals (instead of 3 regular meals) per day, will that raise my metablic rate?

No: Eating several small meals will not raise your metabolic rate, but may decrease your overall caloric intake. For instance, eating 150-calorie meal 8 times a day would give you 1200 calories. Most people require 2000 calories a day. This would mean he would have an 800-calorie deficit and would lose 1.5 pounds per week on this kind of diet.
