Yes: Kids with hard or bulky stools or some that push out too fast will cause a crack in the outlet. This deposits bright red blood on the outside of the BM. Pain vs no pain? : Bleeding with bm and if associated with much pain, likely anal fissure and/or external hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoid usually does not hurt and blood is often found coating the stool rather than mixing with it. Better safe than sorry, check with your doc to see what you have. Hemroids are enlarged blood vessels that can be fragile and bleed easily and also painful around the anus both externally and internally.
