You need to go see .: You should see a Eye specialist on an urgent basis, like Thursday morning(tomorrow. Alcohol can cause a burn on the Cornea(also called Keratitis) which can be painful and lead to impaired vision. The doctor will have to give you medicines to counteract keratitis. ...Read more

Sounds like Dry eyes: Dry eyes are an often the culprit of many symptoms in the eye which can include burning, stinging, tearing, foreign body sensation, tiredness, heaviness, blurred vision and eye pain. You can have some or all of the symptoms or even none of the symptoms and have dry eye. I would suggest starting with using over-the-counter artificial tears and a warm compress on the eye to see if that helps! ...Read more

Lexapro (escitalopram) not culprit: Hi AmandaL- In my experience, Lexapro (escitalopram) is unlikely to cause red eye in just one eye. If it was a drug reaction, it would be more likely to be in both eyes.

It could be: allergies, eye contamination, eye trauma such as a scratch.

This could: be the equivalent of a mild post herpetic neuralgia ( irritation of nerves after shingle infections which last for a while after the lesions resolve)
