What's the effect of alcohol consumption at 34 weeks? Thought I was drinking alcohol-less punch but later was told that it had alcohol (white wine).
I drank vodka shot 32% alcohol. Will I get alcohol poisioning ? I'm a regular drinker. Not alcoholic
Vodka shot: This shot of vodka can definitely impair you and can harm. Given that you are a regular drinker, your liver may clear the ethanol faster. A person who is small can indeed be harmed. Friendly advice, now that you have tried, commit to abstain -- be an example and model to friends. Say no more - you protect and preserve yourself / and you truly may save a friend or acquaintence. Do good. ...Read more
Im 4 months post accutane. i know you are not suppose to drink alcohol, but i had 2 vanilla jello cups with sugar alcohol. will i relapse with acne?
Insanity: I borrow that word from the main literature of alcoholics anonymous. Many people who need to be convinced that they have a problem with alcohol come to this after realizing their choices were unwise or even 'crazy' when it came to drinking. Drinking when one is already ill may be one of those definitions. Drinking something to make you more ill and dehydrated represents having a alcohol problem. ...Read more
I ALWAYS crave alcohol. I rarely drink it but whenever I do drink it tastes great & calms me. Is this alcoholism? I have family history of alcoholism
NO: Alcoholism is heavily used word, I would not name cravings for alcohol as alcoholism. Drinking alcohol can be problematic / abuse/ dependence depending on individual assessment. Cravings are there because probably you have learnt the behaviour from your family. Yes, you are at most risk than others with no family hx of heavy alcohol use. brief Psychological support can be helpful. ...Read more

Gastroenteritis: Soda is a carbonated drink and drinking it when your stomach is not feeling well will cause you to vomit. That's because soda produces more gas in the stomach. Drain the soda in a cup and stir it to release the fizz before you drink it - then it might help prevent nausea and vomiting and prevent dehydration. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
No: it is primarily a high dose of caffeine, with other more-or-less useless stuff thrown in (amino acids, vitamins etc.). There is a false belief (myth) that you can tolerate more alcohol AND that it is safer, if you drink alcohol on top of an energy drink like red bull. It IS NOT true, and in fact is even more dangerous. ...Read more
Do I have to drink several glasses of water before it will absorb a bad hangover or alcohol poisoning?
Going to be starting Lexapro (escitalopram) & noticed it says do not drink alcohol but i know 5 people on it that still drink alcohol with no bad side effects.
Mixing is dangerous: Lexapro combined with alcohol can suppress the respiratory center in the brain. The person will stop breathing and this will cause death. There is no scientifice data showing at what quantities of alcohol and at what dossage of Lexapro can cause this depression of respiratory center . The dose that can kill the people varies from person to person. Xanax (alprazolam) + alcohol can kill the person much faster. ...Read more
If you drank alcohol (vodka) and hours later you felt nauseous and started throwing up. Does that mean you ahd alcohol poisoning?
Start with stopping: Very few people at age 18 will develop any serious withdrawal from either alcohol or marijuana, but craving, sleep problems, anxiety and other things may occur. You are on methylphenidate, I presume for ADHD, which both pot and alcohol may make worse. Talk to your health care provider about getting support for gaining sobriety - there is help available. Wanting to is the first step so congrats! ...Read more

12 days after concussion. Doctor has cleared me to drink alcohol moderately. Ended up smoking almost a pack of cigarettes and smoking hookah. Am I ok?
I get diarrhoea every time i drink alcohol. It is especially bad with beer or cider. I have been binge drinking for 8 years now.Bloodtest say im fine?
Don't drink: It sounds like you've been a rather chronic drinker. I don't know how much you drink but if you fear going into withdrawal then it would be best to sign in for detox. I don't want to see you get dehydrated from the diarrhea which he described as severe. You should definitely stop the alcohol, but only in safe setting, and regardless of what your blood test showed, you need to see a G.I. Doctor to find out the exact cause of your diarrhea. It may be the alcohol or it actually could be something else. Push fluids nonalcoholic fluids and contact your doctor at the earliest possibility. If you're getting too dehydrated and have someheadaches lightheadedness dizziness and leg cramps, you should have someone drive you to the emergency room for fluid replacement. Best wishes. ...Read more
I took the dose of Meds for clamidia and approximately 4 or 5 hours later I consumed alcohol . Will it still clear it up? Or do I need to get treated
Does eating a large meal during drinking help slow the process of alcohol and clear your body of it faster?
Yes and no: yes, it does slow the process of alcohol absorption, but it does nothing to increase its clearance. Safe alcohol consumption in women is no more than 7 standard drinks per week, averaging no more than 1 per day, and never more than 3 drinks on any one occasion. While eating slows the absorption, you will reach the same alcohol level depending on how much you drink. It's NOT safer. ...Read more

Is it true that clearer alcohol is more healthier for you than darker alcohol? Or is it best not to drink alcohol at all? Love y’all at healthtap!
No: Alcohol is not healthy for you in most cases. Drinking clear alcohol, vodka as opposed to colored alcohol, ie rum, scotch, whiskey, wine, etc has no difference in terms of effect of alcohol on the central nervous system. Long term drinking of clear alcohol vs flavored, colored alcohol effect on the body ; ie liver, brain, heart has not been taught in medicine to be better. ...Read more
I drink quite heavily and i'm due for a alcohol blood test in two weeks time. How long will it take for it to be clear on test?
Depends/ metabolism: In the average individual, 1/2 of the existing ethanol will be out of the system in about 1/2 hour, but this is effected both by loading (continuing to drink) & the livers ability to metabolize the product. If your liver cannot remove the product as fast, it stays longer.Abstaining for at least a day should clear most, but longer may be needed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
