They contain Hydroquinones or Kojic acid which inhibit production of melanin, skin pigment. Caution must be used with these products. Avoid the sun:
Skin "bleaching cream" is actually available otc--lustra but takes time to work. Also, it is not permanent because exposure to the sun will re-darken the skin. So, besides avoid the sun, there isn't much you can do. Sensible sun exposure is actually a good thing. Such as vitamind etc...So, weight the risks/benefits.
