Transgendered: Yes. Of course. But, please, if you are thinking you are transgendered get into good supportive therapy and do the hormones under the care of a real physician who is also supportive. ...Read more
Not the best product: Estroven is a weak supplement compared to taking estradiol in one of its forms. If breast development is desired, talk to a doctor who is informed on gender issues. And remember that breast development takes time, and is partially genetically-controlled. Look at the web site of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. Forgive me if I've made incorrect assumptions here. LGromkoMD ...Read more
No: Estroven contains vitamins, minerals, ; herbal supplements. It also has soybean based material which acts as estrogen but not to the extent of which you are inquiring. Soybeans are sources of phytoestrogens. The specific plant Estrogens in soy include daidzein and genistein. We remain uncertain if plant Estrogens increase risk for breast cancer the way conventional Estrogens may. ...Read more

My advice is quit: Smoking. Nothing is safe when you smoke. Why are you worried about medications when you are already consuming a drug that you know is going to at least shorten your life if not give you cancer, lung disease or increase your risk of a heart attack. Plus prematurely age your skin and deepen your voice. So the question is not is estrogen safe but is smoking save with it! ...Read more
Yes: But do not take them at the same time. Levothyroxine should be taken on an empty stomach and separate from any vitamins or supplements by at least an hour otherwise they could decrease the absorption of the levothyroxine. Always check with your doctor for any contraindications before taking the estroven as well. ...Read more
Probably OK: Unfortunately there is no study combining estroven and lexapro (escitalopram), (escitalopram) thus we can't be sure. But, based on the ingredients of estroven--mostly vitamins, minerals, and some magnolia bark, soybean, and black cohosh--which should be ok with lexapro (escitalopram). Nevertheless, unexpected reaction can occur with any med or combo of meds, thus use smallest effective dose for shortest time possible. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more

Stop taking it.: Natural hormone replacement is fraught with danger. There are very safe and proven estrogen replacement medications that are well-studied and whose proper dosing and side effects are well understood. That is not the case with herbal forms, which are not even guaranteed to do what they say. See your doc and consider plant based estrogen replacement first, not horse-derived. ...Read more
For some yes: Estroven is an over the counter herbal supplement to improve hormonal imbalance during perimenopause. It can help women who have mild symptoms and are good candidates for hormone use. Constipation can be…: Caused by many meds. Ways to prevent it: get plenty of fiber in diet (fruits/veggies/whole grains) along with plenty of fluids (water best; avoid caffeine as it can lead to increased urination); fiber supplements help, too, but water is needed; otherwise fiber supplements can constipate. Stool softeners r also beneficial. Avoid laxatives as body becomes dependent on them. Keep taking med as rx'd. ...Read more

Is one of the side effect of taking Estroven gas? I've started taking it about 2 weeks ago and I have gas all the time since taking it.
Ask manufacturer: Unlike prescription medications under supervision of FDA such that evidence of safety & effectiveness are needed prior to marketing along w/delineation of known side effects, manufacturers of dietary supplements are not beholden to same rules. In fact, they are responsible for above but more like fox guarding hen house. I searched www. Estroven. Com where they claim no side effects goo. Gl/4Ok39U ...Read more
I have factor v blood disorder. Is it safe for me to take the over the counter Estroven pills to try and relieve night sweets.?
Maybe: Both increase the chance of blood clots. Would not recommend over the counter medications known to exacerbate an existing risk (genetic predisposition for clotting in this case). The overall benefit of treatment may outweigh risk, but a physician that can assess the complete medical picture should help with the decision. ...Read more
If I take estroven, otc, should I be taking a multi-vitamin also, or does the estroven have enough in it? I also take other supplements.
Estroven: Estroven does not have enough of the multis you need. You can take a good one a day mult vitamin. Also with you possibly in menopause, you need to watch your bone health. The one vitamin pearle I will tell you is that you should take also a good calcium supplement. One like citracal with d. The reason for citracal is that is better absorbed in a low acid enviroment which Omeprazole may cause. ...Read more
