Estrogen Levels During Ivf Cycle
I would ask yr doc: Ivf can be stressful and there is an inclination to get obsessed with details. I'm not saying that's you and it is important to be informed. It sounds like you need reassurance of your level but there can be some fluctuations and I'm not sure there is a best level. It is likely a range and one reason to check it is so that it isn't too high, pointing to ovarian hyper stimulation. Good luck. ...Read more
In vitro fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology. Ivf is a procedure used to treat fertility problems and assist with the conception of a child. During ivf mature eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. A few days later, the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted into the uterus. One cycle of in vitro fertilization ...Read more
None!: Progesterone (p4) levels are very low when we use vaginal p4 supplements after ivf. Some use intramuscular p4 but the injections are painful and most have switched to vaginal meds. Estrogen levels are more controversial and usually not checked. Opinions vary by practice so ask your specialists. Best wishes. ...Read more
Estrogen level high at 1094 in wk 6 of IVF pregnancy. Does this affect gender development of brain and sex organs of fetus? Should I decrease estrogen
I am 3 days post et with IVF and taking 1.5 ccprogesterone injections daily with estrogen patches (2) every 48 hrs. E2: 875 and p4:71. Are these good?

29 y/o first IVF embryo transfer two days ago. My estrogen today was 2290 and progesterone was greater than 40.. What does this mean?
IVF transfer: It doesn't mean anything other than your hormones are at levels that can support the embryo. Likely your doctors have you on medications to ensure this is true. They will be doing a pregnancy test when the time is right so try to be patient. Good luck! ...Read more

Ivf stimulation going on. Day 2 of period follicles 22, estrogen 103. Day 3 estrogen 202 (after 150 menopur 150 gonal f). Is this average, good, low?
Good: Are you saying they measured 22 different follicles? That's a lot. You're very early on in the process so it's hard to predict. At the very least though you're average to above average. They will need to watch for ovarian hyperstimulation if you have that many follicles. They may need to decrease your dose in the near future. Most women use stimulation meds for 10-12 days. ...Read more

Very light spotting 3 weeks pregnant. Should I be concerned? IVF patient. Currently using vaginal progesterone & estrogen.
I am currently 11 weeks pregnant thru IVF and was told to stop all estrogen and progesterone. Is it safe to stop? And when does the placenta take over?
Can't start IVF as high baseline E2 (275 pmol/L). What causes this? Also have low FAI & many symptoms of oestrogen dominance, no help from consultant!
Only 400 words!: Your E2 of 275 is too high for a good start, and it's appropriate to wait: success rates are poor if you don't. This happens if there is a persistent functional cyst at the intended start date. Some docs in the US will "aspirate" the cyst and start anyway. The concept of "estrogen dominance" is really not based on any science, mostly just a layman idea, I wouldn't worry about it. Good wishes. ...Read more
I was very over stimulated on IVF drugs, and oestrogen through the roof. Could this have caused my thyroid cancer? Lump appeared after ivf.
Face change/hormones: Estrogen production will certainly influence the appearance of actual body changes during puberty, and can cause acne and oily areas on one's face. The actual bony and muscular structure of the face is not generally caused by estrogen levels, since the same levels are present from early teens until mid 30's, after which the estrogen levels do increase substantially. ...Read more

Freeze all?: A very high e2 is a risk factor for ohss. You could freeze all embryos to prevent getting pregnant. The HCG of pregnancy is a huge risk factor for ohss. Varies: Estrogen levels fall at menopause. This is a natural transition for all women between ages 40 and 55. The decline in estrogen can happen abruptly in younger women whose ovaries are removed.
