When is the right time and day to test for fsh, estrogen, progesterone and androstenidione levels if my menstrual cycle is of 24 days?

Differs: Estradiol and fsh are drawn around day 3 of the cycle. A Progesterone is drawn around day 20 or. 21. Androstenedione levels are uncommonly used in clinical practice, but their levels can vary through the cycle.

Menstrual Cycle (Definition)

The menstrual cycle begins with the shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in bleeding from the vagina. A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more

On what day of a menstrual cycle should an estrogen and progesterone test be done?

On what day of a menstrual cycle should an estrogen and progesterone test be done?

Different days: Estradiol (e2) can be checked as a 'baseline' level on day 2 or 3, or later in the first half of your cycle if you are taking fertility medications - often combined with ultrasound monitoring of your follicles. Progesterone is typically checked on day 21 if you have 28 day cycles, or a week after ovulation if your cycles are longer or shorter. Progesterone can also be checked when you're pregnant.

During the 7 days of menses, which hormone is higher and which is lower between estrogen and progesterone?

During the 7 days of menses, which hormone is higher and which is lower between estrogen and progesterone?

Both: At the beginning of the menstrual cycle both estrogen and Progesterone are quite low as the cycle is reset. Estrogen begins to rise first - peak shortly before ovulation and declines. After ovulation Progesterone begins to rise. If no pregnancy ensues Progesterone levels fall and the cycle begins again.

Theoretically the lack of estrogen and progesterone in women causes menses to cease. Therefore why doesn't HRT causes menses?

Theoretically the lack of estrogen and progesterone in women causes menses to cease. Therefore why doesn't HRT causes menses?

It should: If hrt is given continuously, in other words, estrogen and Progesterone on a daily basis with no breaks, then you should not have any bleeding unless it is a breakthrough bleed. If you cycle on e and p and go off it them for 5 days then many women will experience light bleeding. Hope this helps.

Can estrogen levels be checked on day 22 of the menstrual cycle?

Can estrogen levels be checked on day 22 of the menstrual cycle?

Not really: You could check it but there is no way to interpret the results. It is very rare to need to check estrogen levels in a young woman.

Why is my body not producing estrogen? It's this causing me not to have a menstrual cycle.

Why is my body not producing estrogen? It's this causing me not to have a menstrual cycle.

Plenty of estrogen!: Hello Sherese, You are producing plenty of Estrogen. You may not be ovulating for a variety of reason but you have to investigate this further. It is advisable for ladies to have at least 2 cycles a year. Consult a gynecologist to help with this matter.

What time of the menstrual cycle is it best for me to take a progesterone test?

Menstrual cycle: I am not sure why you ask this question. Are your periods regular? Are you feeling well? If there is a NO to either of these questions please see a gynecologist.

I have low progesterone 5.5%, and I have taken 8 bottle of 25ml of the injection, then I started see my menstrual cycle twice a month. What do I do?

I have low progesterone 5.5%, and I have taken 8 bottle of 25ml of the injection, then I started see my menstrual cycle twice a month. What do I do?

Birth control pills: Birth-control pills would provide excellent menstrual cycle regulation as well as correct your Progesterone deficiency. This would be a much more effective option than Progesterone injections. Progesterone injections will cause a side effect of irregular periods.

Changes in progesterone due to menstrual. Cycle. What does that mean? Is it normal or something I should get checked I'm 45 tubes tied

Changes in progesterone due to menstrual. Cycle. What does that mean? Is it normal or something I should get checked I'm 45 tubes tied

Progesterone: Progesterone changes thru out the month. Increases at ovulation and comes back down if no pregnancy occurs. In the later years the Progesterone begins to decline in perimenopause before menopause occurs. This may cause decreased menstrual cycles. I would consider having your hormones checked to make sure.

After taking Clomid (clomiphene) and progesterone, is it normal to have a heavy menstrual cycle with large blood clots?

Clomid (clomiphene) and aub: Yes. Hopefully you are not taking both at the same time. I am assuming you are taking progesterone only on the second half of your cycle.

Could menstrual cycle coming back after 10yrs of amenorrhea be the cause of biliary dyskinesia? 0% on hida scan. Could elevated estrogen do this?

Could menstrual cycle coming back after 10yrs of amenorrhea be the cause of biliary dyskinesia? 0% on hida scan. Could elevated estrogen do this?

Unrelated: I don't feel that your hormonal status accounts for the abnormal hida scan. The radiologist can discuss with your physician causes of zero ejection results other than gall bladder disorders as there are some other factors that can cause false positive results and I'm not aware that elevated estrogen levels is one of them.
