Estriol (Overview)

There are three forms of naturally occuring estrogen in the body, estrone, estradiol, and estriol. Estriol is the most commonly used and recommended form of estrogen for menopausal symptoms. Estriol has great benefit to the cells of the vagina but has little effect on the breast or the uterine lining when used conservatively. I always recommend the lowest dose of estrogen hormones as possible.

Where is information on normal levels of progesterone, estradiol, estriol, testosterone & dhea?

Lab reference ranges: Levels of these hormones are only as reliable as their test kits. One lab may use a different method for detection than another. You may not be able to compare values between different labs. Labs also set their normal ranges based on multiple tests. You need to discuss these hormones with an endocrinologist as they're trained to understand the different testing methods. ...Read more

Hello,
I was prescribed 0.5 mg of estriol vaginal gel to use daily for vaginal burning? It worked for 2 months, then stopped. What else can I use?

Vaginal burning: It may be a coincidence that the burning stopped. Burning can be caused by a number of organisms, namely yeast or bacterial. Estrogen vaginal gel may improve only hormonal deficits , and not really deal with the origin of the symptoms.
