I am w/o a pituitary gland. I am on replacement medications. Like estradiol and progesterone. I found out I have very low fsh. Can i get pregnant?

Gonadotropins: Since fsh and lh are pituitary hormones if you really have no pituitary function (pan-hypopituitarism) it is not surprising your fsh would be near zero. As long as your ovaries and reproductive tract are normal (probably they are) it is very possible to get pregnant with drugs that contain fsh and lh, we do it all the time. Good luck. ...Read more

How long dose it take for estradiol to began working and can u end up getting pregnant while taking this medication?

Estradiol pregnancy: It's not so simple of a question. "Low estrogen" is not a direct cause of difficulty getting pregnant. It sounds to me like you would benefit from seeing someone who is able to explain better the possible causes of trouble getting pregnant. And the best options for treatment based on more specific description of your exact situation. ...Read more

Had a medication abortion one month ago, now on trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol). Should i continue to use condoms or is bc enough? 1 partner. Higher risk of pregnancy now?

Birth Control: Does not protect against std's at all, while condoms do. There are many common std's are there that you can get with only one unprotected exposure--you might have already been exposed during your pregnancy encounter. Best to be safe than sorry until you are ready to commit for good. Hpv can cause cervical cancer, herpes breakouts could happen monthly or rarely but make you contagious forever! ...Read more

What causes heavy long periods with the copper IUD is there any medication I can take. Can I take levlen (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) ED just to stop heavy long flow plz?

What causes heavy long periods with the copper IUD is there any medication I can take. Can I take levlen (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) ED just to stop heavy long flow plz?

Known side effect: The copper IUD is known to cause heavier periods, probably due to localized irritation and inflammation. If it is sufficiently severe the solution is to remove the IUD. The Levlen (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) might help but that defeats the point of the IUD. A better approach would be to switch to the progesterone IUD which will actually decrease flow. ...Read more

What is the most effective drug to lower estradiol levels? My bone age is 2 years advanced.

Not worth mentioning: At age 19 you are done growing taller and your bone age should be that of an adult. Estradiol has a peripheral role in maintaining bone health but not something I would try to suppress for such a complaint. If you have man boobs due to excess levels you need to have the issue evaluated by your doc. Injected testosterone or medical problems can be the origin. ...Read more
