Is using diluted essential oils as a body spray considered safe?

Is using diluted essential oils as a body spray considered safe?

It depends: It depends on where you're spraying them, in what concentrations, and whether you personally tolerate them. If you have sensitivities towards what you're spraying, you could develop a skin or other tissue reaction. You want to dilute essential oils into a carrier oil to at least 2% (or less). http://www. Call poison control: If you were in my office, I would call Poison Control at 1 800 222-1222 for the best information pertinent to your particular situation. They often need a little more information than what you've provided here to make the best recommendation, and if you call them, they can find out what they need to know. My 3 year old just sprayed canola oil in her eyes. What should I do, please help?

Oil in eye: Unless it was very hot, just rinse out the oil with artificial tears and it should not be a problem. If it was hot, it may cause thermal injury and you should take him/her to an eye doctor.

Does grapefruit oil, extract, spray, and mist interact with ssri antidepressants?

I am constipated and have heard olive oil is an effective remedy - would olive oil spray work?

NOT!: Olive oil is NOT a remedy for constipation...unless you have steatorrhea! Increase fiber in your diet and water consumption. Things like psyllium husk and Metamucil are good fiber sources that really DO help with constipation.

Does using grapefruit oil, extract, mist, or spray topically on the body or inhaling it interact with ssri medication?

Does using grapefruit oil, extract, mist, or spray topically on the body or inhaling it interact with ssri medication?

Probably transiently: The issue with grapefruit and other medications is that it competes for the same activating enzymes as the medication. Grapefruit inhibits the activating enzyme p450 thereby increasing the effect of any medications using that same enzyme such as certain types of ssri's. This effect is transient and limited to the amount of grapefruit taken in. In the case of topical and inhaled it's probably smal

If grapefruit oil, extract, mist, or spray is applied topically on the body, inhaled, or accidentally ingested, will it interact with ssri antidepressant?

If grapefruit oil, extract, mist, or spray is applied topically on the body, inhaled, or accidentally ingested, will it interact with ssri antidepressant?

Food-drug interaxn?: Ingested grapefruit juice is know to interact with SSRIs; so the combo should B avoided. Apparently grapefruit essential oil's interactions (&/or phototoxicity) depend on how it is obtained (cold-pressed, etc). Unless there is significant absorption of the oil/mist/spray, there shouldn't be a significant rxn. Interaction from ingestion would depend on the amount ingested.
