Should the fda ban cigarette smoking in all public places?

Should the fda ban cigarette smoking in all public places?

Smoking is not safe.: Even though i had rather people make the choice of not smoking, sometimes we need to have laws to protect everyone. There are more public places where smoking is banned than there ever have been. I would support a total ban on smoking in public places. ...Read more

I am trying to quit smoking & smoke only on fridays. Are e-cigarettes safe? There are conflicting articles and lack of data, advise?

Everyone is: different but setting target date to stop and then stopping completely on that day can be effective. Learning some self-hypnosis can support this plan of action. Chewing gum or eating mints is useful, especially at high risk times like coffee breaks. Peace and good health. I suggest not using e-cigarettes which can be just another form of dependence. ...Read more

Why don't you advocate for swedish snus for smoking cessation and harm reduction? It is safer than smoking and other st. Many papers have found this.

Why don't you advocate for swedish snus for smoking cessation and harm reduction? It is safer than smoking and other st. Many papers have found this.

Politics: You're correct. Studies are divided as to whether swedes who use 'snus' have an increased cancer risk; i was surprised at the 2007 study showing no risk. The stuff is addictive and i'm not going to advocate for this. Although it's much safer to chew than to smoke, and I have told young people this, the politically correct answer is 'you should not use any tobacco.'. ...Read more

Is it actually a good strategy to impose heavy taxes on cigarettes packs to discourage psmoking?

It helps: Anything that makes cigarettes less attractive is helpful and to the extent that raising taxes on them causes fewer sales, that is a good thing. It is a tricky path because if the tax is too high, smuggling and criminal behavior will follow. ...Read more

Affect of smoking marijuana on surgery? I smoke marijuana about 3-4times a week

What kind of surgery: Generally "social" use of marijuana is not going to cause any difficulties. Heavy marijuana smokers can get lung problems just as cigarette smokers do, and if you are having general anesthesia, that might make a difference. It should not cause any problems in general with either surgery or anesthesia in lower-dose smokers. ...Read more

Who here recommends uses of smokeless tobacco over smoking?

Pick your poison: While lung disease risk may be lower with nasal and oral tobacco, you will get higher risk of oral, head and neck cancer. The most compelling reason to switch from smoke to smokeless is cutting down second hand smoke exposure for your friends and family. They will appreciate it, especially when they see the horrible suffering you endure after your head and neck cancer surgery. ...Read more

How much impact would secondhand marijuana smoke have on small children? Any different from cigarette smoke?

Lots: Secondhand mj smoke implies that an adult is smoking in the same area as a child. Besides the obvious impact of smoke inhalation, there is the facet of tacit acceptance of illegal activities to an impressionable child. The biggest impact then would be abuse of the child. Look at it this way, would you shoot up heroin in front of a child? ...Read more

It's okay to use my e-cigarettes in places where smoking is banned right?

Not necessarily: There have already been a number of places where e-cigs have been banned. They produce a vapor, and nobody really knows what is in it. The companies say it is just water vapor. but the propellant (propylene glycol) and oils, flavorings, additives, preservatives in them is not even known with certainty (trade secrets), let alone what they do to us short-term or long-term. Im smoking cigarette so much.Daily 20+ ciggarette.I was starting before 2year ago.How to leave smoking.

Cold turkey.: As far as quitting without any nicotine replacement, the cold turkey method is great. But plan it ahead of time. Pick a quit date in advance, maybe a meaningful date like a birthday or holiday, and gather people who are aware of your attempt that you can call upon for moral support if you start to falter. Good luck!! ...Read more
