The best response is like Herceptin (trastuzumab) where this epidermal growth factor 2 mAb requires added chemo. As such when Colon Ca is treated with Erbitux + chemo there is an improvement in response for a number of months. No cures have been seen. ...Read more

Not very: Etbitux or Cetuximab is an antibody developed against a growth factor receptor on the surface of your cells. It can be used to kill cancer cells which have the same receptor. Unfortunately, bone cancer cells have not proven to be responsive to this type of treatment. Cetuximab is used mostly for metastatic colon cancer.
