Essentially normal: A urine sample is 'allowed' to have up to 5 pus or WBCs per high power field (hpf). Epithelial cells are just skin cells, so you're allowed to have some of those too. Bacteria are often present in the environment and may have gotten picked up here in your urine sample. (After all, it's food for them). Try again: Epi's almost always are a marker of a contaminated specimen--it picked up skin cells along the stream. Need a good clean catch, and are looking for bacteria, white blood cells, nitrite, leukocyte esterase, and WBC casts for classic pyelonephritis (kidney infection). Might still be a UTI: Gram +ve organisms tike staphloccus, stretococcus, & enterococcus are all nitrite negative & thus urine dipstick can show as -ve for bacteria, yet you can still have a UTI, Urine needs 2B cultured to rule out a UTI in presence of so many leucocytes, Another explanation could be Mixture of introital smegma + some menstrual flow.
