Not the best choice: If due to bacteria sensitive to the cephalosporin antibiotics, cefuroxime should work fine. But knowing this requires a urine cuture with antimicrobial susceptibility testing if positive. If such testiing hasn't been done, this is a poor antibiotic choice. Normally a fluoroquinolone, e.g. levofloxacin. Or if under age 35, ceftriaxone + doxycycline for likely chlamydia or gonorrhea. ...Read more
