Can you have a second HSV outbreak in the middle of a 10 day Valtrex (valacyclovir) treatment?

Sure: Valtrex (valacyclovir) decreases the severity of symptoms. It is not a cure for herpes which is a lifelong illness. It is possible for a particular outbreak to get worse. My doctor said I have hsv1&2 and gaved me acyclovir for five days but my treatment isn't up yet but I have another outbreak, how is that possible?

My doctor said I have hsv1&2 and gaved me acyclovir for five days but my treatment isn't up yet but I have another outbreak, how is that possible?

Troublesome herpes: Herpes is often triggered by stress - so I would try to find out 'what' is causing you so much stress and reduce it. Otherwise you will continue to have outbreaks. Acyclovir works but you have to take it FIVE TIMES a day - hopefully your doctor told you that. You have to drink alot of water with it too. You should get checked for other medical issues too that might make your body weak. Hope ur OK. ...Read more

Can you have another HSV outbreak in the middle of your first week of Valtrex (valacyclovir) treatment? I have white head like bumps that showed up overnight

Can you have another HSV outbreak in the middle of your first week of Valtrex (valacyclovir) treatment? I have white head like bumps that showed up overnight

Possible: If you are taking the Valtrex (valacyclovir) to prevent out breaks it is possible to have one while on the medicine. It decreases the risk but doesn't always prevent an outbreak. You may need a higher dose. If you are using it to treat an out break, It is unlikely that you would have an outbreak clear up this fast and get another. Talk to your doctor. This may well be something else. ...Read more

Can a treatment to remove molluscum in genital area cause an outbreak in an hsv-2 positive person?
