I overdosed on entex yesterday; how long does it stay in my system?

Depending on amount: I certainly hope you just took a bit more than what is recommended and not intentional od. Anyhow, entex has 2 meds in it and phenylnephrine has half-life of about 3 hours (time it takes for 1/2 to disappear from your body). Usually there is much left after 5-6 half-lives (15-18hours). If you have bad symptoms, please consult doc. Becareful using any med; some can have devastating consequences. Good luck. ...Read more

Is it safe to use entex la for extanded periods of time?

Avoid prolonged use: Entex has 2 ingredients. One is guaifenesin, a mild cough suppressant (same as in plain robitussin). The other is phenylephrine, a decongestant. A person who feels he needs this type of medication more than 2-4 weeks should ask his primary care doctor about trying other medications. Are ?Humibid? And entex the same?

Are ?Humibid? And entex the same?

No : Entex was a combination of Guaifenesin (to thin mucus) and phenylpropanolamine (a decongestant) Entex Pse had Pseudoephedrine as a decongestant. The fda took both of these off the market. Humibid la was extended release Guaifenesin alone. I believe the makers Mucinex (guaifenesin) forced all extended release preparations off the us market also. ...Read more

Yes: on screening tests (dipstick tests and other "first use" tests) but NOT on confirmatory tests. Can entex La be taken with antibiotics (Amoxylline)?

Can entex La be taken with antibiotics (Amoxylline)?

Yes, but:: You can take them together, but Entex La is probably not that effective. If you are having nasal congestion from a cold Afrin(OTC) which is a 12 hour nose spray is much more effective(but can't use much more than 3 days). Guaifenesin in Entex is an expectorant that's been used for many years. One study recently suggested it's also not very effective. Staying well hydrated is the best expectorant ...Read more

Am I dying?

Am I dying?

We all are: A 3-word question with no details... well, life is short on Earth, regardless of whether a person lives 3 days, 3000 days, or 30,000 days. It is not length of one's life that matters, but the quality of the life lived. The goal is not to live a long life, but to live a good life. Even if a person makes it all the way to age 82, that's only 30,000 days. ...Read more
