What is the difference in 81 enteric coated aspirin and 81 non enteric coated...is their any interference with other meds if enteric coated?
No difference: Enteric coated medications are coated to limit stomach upset. The effect on the kidneys is unaffected by enteric coating. Doesn't matter: Enteric coated just means that the pill is coated with a substance to prevent dissolution in the stomach and not dissolve until further down the GI tract. Developed really bad daily constant heartburn.chest pain 4 days after starting Plavix and enteric coated baby aspirin. Never had before. Starting a PPI resolved sx. Is it like the Plavix/aspirin causing the heartburn. Surgeon wasn't sure.

Depends: Historically , Aspirin was and is a cheap and effective way of relieving the pain and inflammation of arthritis. Doses were increased gradually till relief was achieved or side effects stopped the increase in the dosage. The most common side effects were gastro-intestinal upset, ulcers or ringing in the ears. 1300 mg is a moderate dose.
