Can neck pain cause vertigo and dizziness when bending head and neck over or to the side? Or when laying down? It's not bppv (as told by my ent)

Ear blockage and TMJ: The connection is so common that there is a term, the otomandibular syndrome, meaning combination signs and symptoms of ear problems along with TMJ disorders as the causative agent. Possibly: I assume by "ENT normal" you have been evaluated by an ENT with a full head & neck exam and fiberoptic laryngoscopy? A barium esophagram may also be helpful given the association with swallowing. Assuming all normal, I would see a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders. Botox injections can be helpful in cervical dystonia. Deep brain stimulation is also showing promise in severe cases. ...Read more

Globus pharyngis: This may be a condition called globus pharyngitis. Sometimes its psychogenic, but medical causes stemming from the laryx/hypopharynx/vocal cords/esophagus should be ruled out. When should a lymph node be biopsied? Enlarged x6months pea sized. Clear labs, & head & neck CT. ENT says not large enough to warrenty a biopsy.

6 mo. Right ear feel blocked, right neck feel swollen when turning head, phlegm in throat. Quit smoking dec 9th. Ent may 22. Any ideas?

Concerned: I always get concerned when someone mentions ear and throat symptoms on the same side as this may be indication of inflammation, ulcer, or tumor of throat. It is good that you have an appointment to see ENT in a couple weeks. Hope it is nothing serious. ...Read more
