Ent Diseases In Children
Have all symptoms to menieres diease. But I've been tested by ENT and its not menieres. What could it be?
It can still be: Meniere's disease is a paroxysmal, positional transient vertigo similar to benign positional vertigo but accompanied by episodic deafness, ringing in ears, or stuffiness ofone ear. If there is deafnees it affect low tones. Lesions in brain stem do not produce episodic symptoms. Get a good audiometric study (pure tones and speech) and a brain stem evoked potential test. It can still be meniere's. ...Read more

I have pet, patulous eustation tube? Not sure on the spelling. Do I have to live with this? Question for ent. Rare disorder.
Rare as you said: This disorder can be quite bothersome to those who have it. If i had it i would try and be seen by dr denis s poe in boston. Very few surgeons have done as much work on the eustachian tube disorders. Depending how much it is bothering you, it might be worthwhile to see him. I have sent patients to him in the past and they are happy to have seen him. Hope this helps! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Looking for info on sphenoid sinus disease/surgery for 8 yr old. Ped ENT observed for 1 yr & has worsened, now surgery. How rare is this procedure?
It depends: Sphenoid sinus disease that causes symptoms such as headaches should be operated on if it does not respond to antibiotics. If there are no symptoms, it probably isn't necessary to do surgery unless the doctor is concerned that there is a mass in the sinus, instead of just swelling or infection. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

ENT said - Migraine
Neuro said - Phobic vertigo since BPPV
Homeopath said - Meniere's disease(Audiogram was normal)
How to find out which one i have?
Difficult: Phobic vertigo is a triggered response to anxiety that causes symptoms but no loss of function, meniere's disease includes an actual loss of hearing acuity which is measurable, including other signs and symptoms. Migraines are diagnosed clinically. Making a definitive diagnosis would be difficult since much if the diagnosis of all of these is subjective ...Read more
Chances of tonsil cancer in a 27 year old that has autoimmune disease; who is a non smoker? Ent and primary has seen my unilateral tonsils, no concern
I would not worry:
If your ENT is not worried, you should not worry.
Doctors are like the workman who only has a hammer and to whom everything looks like a nail. If that workman tells you that you don't have a nail, you can be darned sure you don't have a nail.
Your ENT takes out tonsils. If he tells you your tonsils don't need taking out, they don't need taking out. ...Read more

Can a hearing specialist (ent) literally see, (with mri's) the presence of inner ear fluid buildup that may result in the diagnosis meniere's disease?
I can't breath easily sometimes because of my neck ...I had check up to ent but doctor said I have larynx disease. And he gave me omeprazole I take this for one month..
Keep going: One month on omeprazole is not long enough to tell if it's helping. Call your ENT if you are still worried. I'm not sure what you mean about your neck stopping your breathing but, your doc should be able to help you tease this out. ...Read more

My throat begins to hurt/ often swells a bit if i talk for longer periods ie 45 , min , is it an indication of some ENT disorder/disease ?
May be a voice issue: Some people don't use ideal technique when speaking. They tend to power their voices by squeezing their throat muscles instead of using their diaphragm and good breathing technique. My guess is that you don't use proper technique and that is why after 45 minutes your throat bothers you. I recommend seeing an ENT who specializes in the voice for an evaluation and then perhaps a speech therapist. ...Read more
How does one manage a left mastoid pneumocele non surgically. CT scan done w/o contrast history of chronic kidney disease. ENT doesn't know how to treat.
Depends on symptoms: If you are not suffering from the condition, I would leave it alone and monitor over time for resolution on its own which occurs quite frequently. Ask your ENT to consider putting a PE tube in affected side ear to relieve the air pressure that usually cause the condition. ...Read more
