Not sure of question: It sounds like your doctor found a "mass" in your neck above your collar bone and recommended an MRI. This confirmed the presence of lymph nodes in the same area, some of which were slightly large, at the upper ("top normal") limit of normal. Yes and no...: Neck lymph nodes may become enlarged with tumors of the head and neck, such as squamous cell carcinoma of the throat. (Smokers are prone to this problem.) This is because the lymphatic channels in the neck will filter through neck nodes before draining into a larger vessel in the chest. No: However, if you tend to be over-anxious and you're a young adult, you'll start noticing the lymph nodes that everybody has in their necks. A dangerous node is obviously very abnormal clinically. You need to learn to ignore the ones that aren't fixed to surrounding structures, stony-hard / tire-rubber hard, and not deforming.
