Have a ovarian cyst 8cm, on CT scan mesenteric and retroperitoneal lymph nodes noted? Does that mean enlarge?. I'm confused. It didn't say enlarged.

Not necessarily : 8cm cyst ( depending on what it looks like on the scan) does not have to be cancer in someone your age. Lymph nodes are often visible on scans and as long as they are not enlarged ( greater then 1cm) they are just a normal finding. The cyst should be followed up on in a short period of time (6weeks) with a pelvic ultrasound, but if there was anything questionable about the lymph nodes then ct. ...Read more

Pain in right RLQ, swollen lymph nodes abdomen wall via CT, appendix not visible. No Gallbladder, no ovarian cysts. Hematuria, labs ok. Disdended abd?

May still be apendix: Pain in RLQ concerning for appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy & ovarian torsion. A simple pregnancy test rules out ectopic. CT us usually the tool for appendicitis. Did they use oral and IC contrast? (Oral is chalky stuff you drink, IV makes you feel hot all over). If contrast given, appendicitis less likely.. Worth noting: If the radiologist remarks on the lymph nodes, they be significant depending on the clinical situation; such as bowel disease or infection. An 8 cm ovarian cyst is abnormal and requires follow up ultrasound after two menstrual cycles. ...Read more
