Tender lymph nodes in neck with head pain/what is it?

Tender lymph nodes in neck with head pain/what is it?

Could be...: A few different things. Tender is usually a good sign. If you have a few relatively small tender lymph nodes & you struggle with allergies or have a cold, those could cause it. However if you have a very lg node/nodes, it's best to get that checked out. You might also want to check for swollen lymph nodes elsewhere in the body & if you find some, that would be another reason to get checked out. ...Read more

Tender enlarged lymph node under chin ?

Tender enlarged lymph node under chin
?

Probably your friend: I've had one since a strep throat in med school. Different people have big lymphoid outposts in different places. They're there to help you, and only if they are clearly abnormal (huge, rock-hard, stuck to something they shouldn't be) should you consider biopsy. ...Read more

Big headaches on head back, above eyes for past 2w. Left neck glands swollen. Left ear cavum hurts on touch. Slightly dizzy. Is it sinusitis?

Big headaches on head back, above eyes for past 2w. Left neck glands swollen. Left ear cavum hurts on touch. Slightly dizzy. Is it sinusitis?

Not likely: If you do not have nasal symptoms or discharge, it is not likely to be sinusitis. It is not feasible to say, what it is without examining you. If your symptoms do not abate in a week or so, it would be prudent to see your doctor. The enlarged lymph glands are of particular concern and you should get it checked. ...Read more

Frontal & maxillary pressure, headache, tired eyes, scratchy throat, and post nasal drip. Lymph node size of pea under R jaw. Can this cause node swell?

Frontal & maxillary pressure, headache, tired eyes, scratchy throat, and post nasal drip. Lymph node size of pea under R jaw. Can this cause node swell?

Probably : It sounds like you have inflammation in your sinuses and nasal passages. Perhaps allergies or possibly infection. Either could cause a prominent lymph node. I would recommend stomatic treatment with a non sedating antihistamine and a nasal steroid. Both are available over the counter. Ask your pharmacist. If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks or worsen see your doctor. ...Read more

Recurrent migraines on bottom of head near neck and lymph nodes of head, tender spot, may it be associated with chronic head tilting?

Recurrent migraines on bottom of head near neck and lymph nodes of head, tender spot, may it be associated with chronic head tilting?

Cervical migraines: Many things can trigger a migraine attack, i.e. Certain food/drink, odor/perfume, lack of sleep, skipping meals, menstrual/period cycle, medications, sinus infection, tmjs, and for sure neck pain or cervical disc/nerve trouble. So, certainly neck pain/disease can trigger recurrent migraines and so if you have neck strain, this should be corrected. I suggest getting an eval by doc. Good luck. ...Read more

Does 1.4 cm lymph node found in neck ultrasound means enlarged lymph node?

Does 1.4 cm lymph node found in neck ultrasound means enlarged lymph node?

It's not THAT big: "Enlarged" is a matter of opinion. Any why do you ask? Unless you feel obviously sick, or a lymph node in your neck is rock-hard, fixed to surronding structures that it shouldn't be, or oversized enough for everybody to notice, it's your friend. It's helping you stay healthy. Leave it alone and stop worrying. I'm had a 1.5 cm submental node since med school. ...Read more

Hard immovable lump where top of neck and base of skull meet along the hairline (occipital lymph node?); itchy scalp; swollen lymph nodes on neck

Hard immovable lump where top of neck and base of skull meet along the hairline (occipital lymph node?); itchy scalp; swollen lymph nodes on neck

Don't worry: It's common at age 16 to have enlarged lymph nodes- you have an active immune system. The lymph nodes at the base of your skull in back are occipital lymph nodes. They get big from viral infections, particularly mononucleosis. If these wax and wane in size, don't worry. If they stay big, see a doctor. Rarely 16-year-olds get lymphoma. I don't think your itchy scalp is related; dandruff? ...Read more
