For contact wearers, blood vessels in the eyes can become enlarged to transport oxygen. Are there ways to lessen this effect? Thank you.

If too advanced: You need to stop wearing your contact lenses, do not wear contacts over night, follow the regimen prescribed for length of time you wear a pair of cantacts (usually 14 to 30 days). There is no treat to make them go away or regress. Your cornea does not need blood vessels to get oxygen, these blood vessels are not good to have. ...Read more

Could be a migraine: I would definitely ask your eye doctor since they have already examined you but, given your age, it sounds like it may be an ocular migraine. Sometimes these migraines give strange visual phenomena (dark spots in vision, zig zag flashing lights) and are not necessarily associated with a migraine type headache. Though they seem scary, they are actually benign. ...Read more

Eye hemorrhage: This is likely a subconjunctival hemorrhage which usually resolves within a week depending on the size. On the top in white area of left eye actually under eye lid). The blood vessel has a wavy pattern. Not prominent or redder than the other blood vessels in eye. Had eye exam 6 mo ago. Contact wearer. Noticed getting eye lash from under top of eye.

Don't worry: There are a variety of patterns of the superficial blood vessels over the whites of the eyes. Some are thin, some thick, some straight and some wavy. I have burst blood vessels above my left eyeball?

I have burst blood vessels above my left eyeball?

Bleed: This is a sub-conjunctival hemorrhage. As long as the vision is unchanged and there is no pain, everything should be fine. If it is a little irritated, then you can use an artificial tear up to 4 times a day to lubricate. This is due to a blood vessel leaking blood and is usually without cause. Sometimes straining or blood thinner can cause this. If it continues to happen, follow up with eye md. ...Read more

Blepharitis: Your description sounds like blepharitis which is inflammation if the eyelids due to blocked up oil glands. You may consider seeing an eye doctor to confirm the diagnosis as well. ...Read more
