Enlarged Abdominal Lymph Nodes In Children
Normal chest X-ray & abdominal/pelivic CT scan, but positive TB skin test? I have low grade fevers, extreme fatigue & swollen lymph nodes. Tb?
May or may not be!: Unless we know the size of the enlarged nodes, it is difficult to know what these nodes mean. You need to go see a specialist who can do further checking especially if you have any abdominal symptoms like pain, poor appetite, weight loss or fever. If you are well, you can wait and repeat the imaging study that showed these nodes in the first instance. A 2-3 month interval might show if they change. ...Read more
Had c.t scan done for abdomen . Flank pain and says prominent but not enlarged para aortic retro operational lymph nodes are identified ?
Complicated: Your doctor should follow up on this scan with you. I can't tell you definitively what those lymph nodes mean -- i'd need to know why you got the scan in the first place, what your flank plain was all about, what your other symptoms are and what your blood tests show. Please see your doctor soon to discuss this. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Rarely they trap aggressive germs and become golf ball sized and need to be drained. ...Read more
Are lymph nodes under jaw by ear usually palpable in children? What would cause them to enlarge? Should I worry it's cancer in a 5 yo?
Not too much: We all have lymph nodes.Whether we can feel them or not depends on location and what's covering them. In the neck small lymph nodes are easy to feel in thin kids and adults. Slight enlargement, if the nodes are not painful, & with no other symptoms, are common in kids. Recheck in 1 week, if still there, see doc. Don't keep feeling them before then, manipulation can make them stay enlarged. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
