Enfamil Human Milk Fortifier Medication
My 7 mo is on breast milk and supplemented with Enfamil once a day at night and he eats purees too. He is very constipated and in pain when having bm.
Constipation: Be sure that the purees don't include bananas or rice. You can try puree of prunes or baby prunes once daily. You can use 1/2 of a pediatric glycerin suppository for him to have a bowel movement until you have straightened his diet out. Good Luck :) ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My 6 week old baby is refusing to drink expressed breast milk. I've had to supplement with enfamil gentle ease formula. Is this normal?
Weaning: If your baby is nursing with no problem, then this should work. Add a very small amount of breast milk to teh gentlease. Wait a few days and add more.Repeat this process. If you start with a very small amount of pumped breast milk this weaning method usually works. Be patient however. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
My baby brother is 3 weeks old and refusing breast milk, is it okay to start using baby formula in a bottle?
INFANT FEEDING: I see mom is taking propranolol, carbamezipine and propylthiouracil. All these are l-2 drugs, means she can breastfeed without adverse effects to the baby. If baby refuses to nurse, mom can pump the milk with breast pump and feed baby in the bottle. If enough milk is not there, she can supplement with formula after breast milk. Best advise: talk to the pediatrician. ...Read more
Is there any hypoallergenic baby formula that tastes similar to breast milk? Any formula at all similar?
Taste is subjective!: Most infant formula is modeled after breast milk. The nutrients and needs of the growing infant are the first importance. Hypoallergenic implies less likely to cause allergic response, but this too depends on the infant. Taste is a minor concern in providing quality nutrition for the growing infant. ...Read more

Best formular milk for g6pd deficient 8 months baby boy? And is it safe to give enfamil formular milk for a g6pd deficient baby sonce it contains soya?
My 16 month daugther pediatritian ask me to give her soy milk or lactaid, can I give her enfamil prosobee or have to be another kind of soy milk?
If you want, however: If she has progressed to the average toddler intake of solids, she does not need the extra additives that go into formula and make it more expensive. A simple lactose free product like lactaid or soy milk would cost less and achieve what the doc wants. You can always do this if you want. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Your pediatrician...: is going to be the best person to interact with because there is too much information missing for us to give meaningful advice. How old is your baby? How often are you changing formula? How well is the baby growing? Is it possible you are overfeeding the child? Are you burping the baby frequently (after each ounce)? Do you keep the baby comfortably upright for at least 30 minutes after each feed? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What do we do if our 13 month old does not like the taste of milk? Hi,
my question is our child is 13 months. He was on enfamil nutramigin due to the fact he was very lactose intolerant. About 3 months ago his doctor wanted us to start introducing hi
You : You have two good options here; the first is to try soy milk, if he likes it you can continue with the soy, and eventually you could try half soy and half regular; that's what i did for my baby from about 12 months to 16 months, then i transitioned her to regular milk. The second option is to switch to a toddler formula which is designed for babies one year and up. It comes in regular (milk based) and soy formulation, and can be bought wherever regular formula is sold. Lastly, adding chocolate syrup to milk is not a good idea because he will always want his milk this way, and that is not good for him from a nutritonal standpoint. Good luck. ...Read more

3 wks old, very fussy, turns red when it's time to pass bowel movement... Could it be her milk She drinks Enfamil Newborn. What milk should I switch 2?
Hold on...: It is not unusual for babies to strain when passing bowel movements..they are trying to learn to relax certain areas while tensing others. It's a new skill. The more important detail is how is the baby's stool? Is it soft/mushy or hard little balls? Switching milk is not something that you should do without speaking to the pediatrician first.Let them know what's going on so they can guide you best ...Read more

My wife is diagnosed with kidney stones so after medication milk from breasts is not coming. I have a 4 month old baby. Please suggest fr breast milk?
Pump or nursing?: Check with the prescribing MD to see if medication can be the cause. At four months many women's breasts reduce in size but still produce adequate milk. PUMPS use vacuum pressure to get milk out and in some it can become less and less effective. The baby nursing works the nipples differently and they can usually work the milk down. Good urine output indicates baby is getting the milk. No? See MD ...Read more

No: The vagina has a distinct smell that is not a problem. Each woman has a particular vaginal smell; it is natural. Even when you notice a recent difference in its smell, it is not necessarily an infection. That change may be linked to a specific moment of your menstrual cycle because the smell of your vagina can vary depending on the time of the cycle. Diet will not alter the scent. ...Read more

Why is it necessary to give vitamin D supplements to my breastfed baby? Doesn’t human milk have all the essential nutrients for babies?
Yes: Human breast milk indeed is nutritionally complete - provided the mother is complete - if the mother has an adequate blood level of vitamin d so will her milk. Simply put - if she is a breastfeeding lifeguard who doesn't use sunscreen - her milk is perfect. My baby just turned 1. Which is better 4 her, stick to baby formula or switch her 2 cow's milk? Which one is healthier? Thank you ☺
Depends: By the time a kid turns one, most have incorporated a variety of semisolid foods. These can easily make up for some of the special features of breast milk or formula. Regular milk, rather than low fat/skim is needed because baby uses the added fat to support brain growth which slows after 2. The extra in formula if not used end up in her pee. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
