Scoop size: The scoops may appear to be of different dimension to your eyes. Why don't you look to see if there is a label impressed into the scoop such as 1 tsp or 1 tbsp. Check the side of the cans of formula. It may be the case that they manufactured it such that they want you to use 2 scoops of the generic formula to reconstitute the liquid formula. If your baby is having trouble tolerating a milk based formula, regardless of the brand, then you may want to consider switiching to a soy based formula and monitor for improvement. Positioning: What is the age of the child? If older than 3 months and if severe GERD I would consider adding rice cereal 1 tablespoon per 4 oz of the formula to thicken the feed. In a baby less than 2 months I would try positioning in a 45 degree position after feedings for an hr to see if it helps.
