I am recovering from mononucleosis,I wanna know drinking one energy drink (some good without high fructose sirup) or caffeinated drink is bad for me.

It's not easy, but it is possible! hfcs does not occur in nature, so if you cook everything yourself, you can avoid it. Is unhealthy on many levels. High fructose corn syrup is, obviously, not great but the grains used to make bread cause a variety of other issues. Bread made from wheat has been shown to raise blood sugar and to cause inflammation. Wheat gets broken down into sugar (even if there is no sugar added). Wheat also contains gluten, which is addictive and inflammatory.

No: There's been a lot of hype. The truth is, hfcs is 55% fructose and 45%glucose. Sucrose (table sugar) is about 50%fructose and 50%glucose. Glucose is used by our bodies as is. Fructose, on the other hand, requires processing by the liver to be used by the body. I recommend avoiding foods that contain a lot of either one. Jury's out: Cane sugar is sucrose, which is made of glucose and fructose. Corn syrup is mainly fructose. The big problem is probably not from the molecule itself but from how it's added to everything because it is cheap.
