Child gets chronically tired in winter and lacks energy, falls asleep during the day and behaviour gets poor. Was tested for nutritional deficiency- ?
Malaise: If a child has seasonal problems, address possible seasonal allergies. Perhaps, there are increased molds or mildews in your house if you have a basement and your area has a lot of rain in the winter. Also, a lack of vit d may cause symptoms of depression. I would limit artificial light after sunset: no tv, computer, or cellphone use. I would increase exercise to maximize sleep quality. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have been diagnosed with severe vitamin d deficiency. I am really tired and don't feel i can't go back to work, how do I get my energy back?
Vitamin D: If you were diagnosed with "severe" vitamin d deficiency, your 25ohd level would usually be <20 ng/ml. For this, your doctor can treat you with 50, 000 iu d3 orally once per week for 6-8 weeks. This could be followed by taking 1000-2000 iu per day, with a re-test @ 3-4 months to see where you are. If the reason for vit d deficiency is poor absorption, your needs may differ. Ask your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
And your question?:
I'm not sure what you are asking. Yes, vit d deficiency can cause fatigue. It is easy to correct with 5-8000 iu of d3/day. B12 deficiency can be serious too- try 1000 mcg of sublingual b12/day ; if that does not help try injections. See http://bit.Ly/1fnt3ox ; http://bit.Ly/1607tg3
if fatigue persists after correcting then see a good doc to explore the many other possible causes of fatigue. ...Read more
Are there any tips for Iron Deficiency Anaemia sufferers to boost their energy? The fatigue is killing me. Thank you in advance.
Find the cause: If you have access to injectable iron, especially some of the new intravenous stuff, you can be near-well in a few days. If not, oral iron as tolerated. The fatigue precedes the anemia. It's unfortunate anyone suffers with this stuff. Try to find why you have it. It may be your monthly loss, your diet, pregancies, a bleeding ulcer, hookworm, or any of several other causes. ...Read more

If you do not have enough b vitamins, you do not turn food into energy in an efficient manner. This leads to low energy levels, low blood counts, etc. ...Read more

A great unknown: It's very hard to identify true magnsium deficiency by lab work in people not otherwise ill, since most of the body's magnesium is inside the cells. It's unknown how blood levels vary with total body content. Pathologists have discussed this for decades and reached no conclusions. You're wise simply to eat sensibly, getting enough green vegetables. ...Read more
