Doctor prescribed me mesalamine enema for hemorroids today. Will the enema or mesalamine suppositories work better?

Not sure: mesalamine enemas are used for colitis that extends up to the second half the colon, while mesalamine suppositories are used for colitis of the rectum (proctitis). I do not use mesalamine for hemorrhoids.. so you may want to double check on this with your doctor. ...Read more

Sitz baths: Usually, warm water with Epsom salts or something similar are used to help healing after hemorrhoidectomy. This is placed in a small basin, and tou soak your anus in it.
