Acromegaly at 38: Highly unlikely to grow any taller at your age. If your comment about a 3 inch growth starting at age 38 is correct, I would appreciate getting some information from you and the doctor taking care of you. My career is Endocrinology and I can always learn something! ...Read more

Oversecretion of growth hormone from pituitary gland can cause gigantism before age 18 and acromegaly after age 18 . Causation: Carpal tunnel syndrome, in part, represents a synovitis and inflammation narrows the canal. Hypothyroidism and acromegaly (a pituitary growth hormone disorder) are endocrine disorders which cause cts. Diabetes is another (insulin issues--adrenal problems).
