Several Possibilitie: Alcohol cause chemical brain imbalance and is a depressant. Certain medications and recreational drugs (marijuana) and depression can result in lack of motivation. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Hormones can certainly do it, as well. Get a check up with pcp and ask for referral for a psychological evaluation.
