The condition is usually mild, and only felt by the patient without being observable to others. On rare occasions, the twitch can be observed. Most commonly, yes: Nystagmus is the name for usually rhythmic, oscillating (back and forth, or up and down) involuntary movements of both eyes. It is most often seen as a congenital (born with) finding, or develops shortly after birth. There are other causes for unusual or "jerking" eye movements too, and affected individual should be seen by an ophthalmologist, neuro-ophthalmologist, or neurologist for a diagnosis. ...Read more

Swolen eyelid edges, itchy inner corners, eye pain, twichy lids, light sensitivity, hi ocular presure but nothing else found by opthamlogist.Whats cause?
Blepharitis: All the symptoms except high eye pressure are caused by blepharitis, inflammation of the eyelid. Your body's natural oil builds up on the edge of your eyelid around the lashes. Headache, drowsiness, pressure behind right eye, uncontrollable shaking in head/neck, uncontrollable twitching with eyes, body muscles contract?
See your doctor now: All of these symptoms are not normal. Not sure if your eye muscle twitching contracting is in unison with your body or not? Independently, twitching of the eyes can be benign if it's myokymia and caused by tiredness or exertion. However, it seems you need a physical exam in which your doctor can assess your eyes too, and give you a medical plan to follow. S/he may need to order labs too. ...Read more

Could be normal.: Involuntary movements may occur during the dreaming phase of sleep. Some people may have difficulty getting to sleep because they worry a lot and when they finally fall asleep their muscles twitch which can cause them to wake up. It can also happen when you are very tired and yet you may have a hard time to relax and sleep. I wouldn't worry too much about this. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

One should see a doctor if such symptoms persist, keep recurring, or are combined with any other symptoms. ...Read more
Not likely: Eyelid muscle action depends upon the interaction of the neuromuscular connections in the lids. Fluorometholone is a steroid anti-inflammatory used topically and is effective for immune based inflammation of the eye surface and sometimes the eye interior. It will not penetrate the lid skin to reach the neuromuscular bundles and so will have no effect on twitching, etc ...Read more
Blurred vision in one eye, headaches, muscle twitches, dark/yellow circles around eyes. Cat scan of brain & blood work normal. Sound serious?
See an eye doc: Even though cat scan normal, you should still be seen by an ophthalmologist given your symptoms especially if they are progressive. It could be as simple as needing an updated pair of glasses if this is just eye strain(which can cause blurred vision, headaches, and stress related twitching around eyes), but it needs to be ruled out because it could be more serious. ...Read more
